. . .First of all, advertising doesn't work all the time. If 1-800-DENTIST tells you to call right now, you most likely would not. Also, are you sure they will like it, or even care to play it? You can take a horse to water, but you can't make it drink the water.
But...There are some who will like it. Just have them go to the arcade with you, or have them play at your house. I got 3 or 4 people into it. Just let them learn at their own pace, and don't force them to do it.
That is the best advice that I can offer. . .
I am sure they're have been many of these questions on this site. (I have already seen a few before this one) so if this gets locked that means most likely there is a topic or a sticky for questions such as this one. _________________

As for me, I started my own DDR club (aka dance aerobics, so that the prinicple will see it more than a game!). Me and my friends who knew how to play would come after school in a classroom and play for about an hour. Now, how I attracted people was that I placed the volume fairly loud, but not enough to be disruptive. Just enough to let people wonder, "what's going on in that room?". Before you know it, they'll be interested and you would've accomplished your mission. _________________

well, i knew that there were a couple other players at my school, so i talked to my teacher and got permision to bring it in at lunch. once i did that, even people that knew about it but "hated it"(i.e. never played it, so they made fun) ended up playing it. so now i have 3 or 4 more people that are playing. one kid is now determined to go out and buy it all. so yeah, just bring it in, have some fun, and let some other's play. _________________

If you have people who are watching you, they may ask how you get so good, so just say you have the game at home and it's for PS2. Usually they ask where they can get the game and pads. So you know that they will have that in mind. They may buy the game to try it out.
Depends where you go to play DDR however. It works when there are families around. |

Don't...all these n00bs will threaten teh 1337ness of the experienced players. </sarcasm>
The more the merrier . DDR parties are teh SH*T. Host one, although don't necessarily advertise it as exclusively a DDR party...I've never taken DDR to a party with a large group of people where at least one didn't tell me they bought it a week later. _________________

what i do, is i'll bring friends over to my house, and i'll just pull it out, and we'll end up playing together. Also, play really catchy ddr songs in the car to get 'em hooked on the music. Breakdown got my best friend addicted. |

my school had a fundraiser for some charity thing, and you would buy tickets to play teh games, well one of the games that was there was (you'll never guess...) DDR!!!! I went down with my algebra class and just told them to stand back... i proceeded to freestyle the poopy out of the pads and within the next week at least 30 people played the game, also, if you buy one of the blink182 DVDs, i forget which one i think it is the one for take off your pants and jacket, there is a video of tom playign DDR in the bonus material section, show some people this and they will think it is cool. posers are easy to get to play since they like to follow the crowd so much, if you are really desperate, just make it look like everyone is doing it, then pretty soon everyone will... |
