I have been meaning to place a bid on some pads for the past two days, but haven't gotten around to it. Tomorrow is the day. I will let everyone know how they are once I get them. Thanks for all the help.

Hey guys!

I've made my own soft pad modification guide:

www.angelfire.com/pro2/softpadmod

If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know and I'll update it. I feel that my guide is very thorough and has lots of pictures to help people out.

If its works for a RO then it'll technical work for *any* ps2 pad.

The mod I described on my page will most likely NOT work for deluxe style pads such as the redoctane. It is only thin, soft, foldable pads like the DPR2.

[Edit] Oops, thought you guys were talking about something else... Never mind this. [/Edit]

Yes, they work with them... The Gemini Industry Universal adapters that RO sells (EB has em cheaper, shipping-wise, at least in my case - and they get it to ya in 24 hours, unlike RO). I (used to) have two BNS DX-Ultra pads (until they died not even two months after I bought em), and they worked perfectly. Played many a time on XBL with the pads. Just remember they show as controllers, so expect people to complain a fair bit about such if you use pads through adapters on XBL.

I got mine at Gamestop in my local mall... other than that, I don't know where you could get them. The website is www.nakiusa.com.

Whats DP2R stand for? From the picture, it looks like the crappy nonignition soft pads. If you want some for cheap, there are tons of them on ebay. You could prob get two for around $10 more or less.

DPR2 stands for Dance Pad Revolution(or at least that's what it says on their site).
And yes, it isn't an ignition but i have heard that it is good once you mod it.

My original REAL (I know for a fact) Konami was actually defective. I had it for a few months, and then the down arrow didnt work, and my O worked as the up arrow.
So I got a DPR2 and so far, its works VERY good! I didnt mod it either. The only problem I found with it, is when you very first get it, you have to hit the O and X buttons slightly harder then the thers (you actaully haveto put weight on then, not just tap them). But it goes away after a while.

Yeah, thats it.

Heh, sorry for saying so much. riiight.gif

Alright Here is my review of the BNS DX Xtreme dance pad for $50.
I will try to give as many explanations as i can. OK,

Price:I'd say for 50 dollars plus shipping it is well worth it compared to the Redoctane ignition for 100.

Shipping: Shipping was relatively fast, i ordered it on a Saturday and got it the following Friday(ground shipping).

Packaging: The pad came with the insert in three and was stacked next to the pad which was folded into thrids.

Assembly: was as easy as you would expect but the insert is a tight fit.

Ok, by this time you are probably like "C'mon you stupid moron talk about the mat." So I will.

Sensitivity:The pad seems to be sensitive so you don't have to stop but that doesn't mean you can set your toe and it will sense it.

Mat "feel": It has a nice feel to it with the dense insert and raised arrows are kinda nice.

Performance:So far i haven't had any problems(i.e. ghost steps hitting buttons by itself) But i will keep you mosted every month or so.

It has pretty much the same length cord as a regular controller for Playstation2.

Sliding and Bunching: It hasn't really moved or bunched up and i have been testing it out on mostly standard and a little bit heavy. It is unmodded.

Overall: If you are looking for a pad that isn't very expensive and works well. Go with this. I like it more than my Friends' RedOctane Ignition 2.0.

Well hope that helped and sorry for it's length.
If you have any more questions post or PM me.

yo diggity,
ddrwannabbe123

Through a Playstation to Xbox adapter, yes. The most common one out there is made by Gemini Industries...

http://www.redoctane.com/universaladapter.html ($20.95 USD)
http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/238962.asp ($19.99 USD)

There's some linkage, even though I could've sworn it's been posted at least twice in the past two pages... E1.gif
