I understand that a DDR sim looks very much like DDR and plays similar but what exactly is the difference between the two? I've never played one or seen anyone play one so I realy have no idea. Is it that the songs are different or the way you're graded? thanx E4.gif

The underlying software is different (although on the surface it appears the same). More importantly, DDR is a licensed game produced by Konami. The simulators are some programs some people wrote to mimic the experience and provide it for free.

a big difference in actual game play is timing of the arrows, EG... getting a perfect on the arcade is harder than on stepmania

This brought to a thought I had, is StepMania legal? I mean there are the mp3s to being with. Then there is the perfect if not close to it simulation of DDR yet it is being distributed for free.

Only if you set the timing less than 4, if you set it to 4 then it's about same and if you set it higher the SM is harder. I think 9 is like crazy hard. Think of getting goods where you should normally get marvelouses.
