So whats easier for you???? I am MUCH MUCH better on the console than the arcade... i think its cuz of the metaL PAD OR SOMETHING... sorry 4 the caps there..the metal is higher thaN the plastic arrow which screws me up so much..(and its smaller) _________________

There's a few things that could go into effect here. One of them could be the fact that the pad you use at home is a different size then the arcade and your used to using the home pad. There also sliding. You can't slide your feet on a metal pad as much as a standard home pad. There's even more but I could just go on and on |

Console is much easier for me. The pad is all flat, which is good for me because I don't need to pick up my feet as much. And it's much easier to do freeze arrows on home pads. And apparently the Perfect window is bigger on console versions, too. _________________

That's not always true. It depends on the mixes your comparing. |

Arcade, arcade, arcade. I don't have a PS2 or an X-BOX, so the only access I ever had was one of three local arcades. To this day, I still use arcade almost exclusively, but I'll occasionally play with my friends on their soft, slippy pads.
I prefer the arcade because of the slightly sunk-in arrows, which makes it easier to shift your foot to hit the sensor, especially after things like turns or jumps _________________

Arcade is much easier
For me, it's hard doing double jumps on a normal Home Pad. Plus, I get tired quickly at home _________________

Mine is Arcade. I play there more often than I have been now, and I have a Metal Pad at home (though it's still different in certain ways, such as the buttons not being sunken-in. But it still makes me feel better suited for the Arcade pad when I go back to it). _________________

theres one GIANT difference between the two versions, shoes. When you play on your shoes, you can't feel the buttons as much, its heavier, and because of mad/dirt, its usually more slippery. a major factor in certin styles of ddr is weight, and your shoes add it. What i mean by styles, is how you play (people who raise their ankles and step on their toes are efected a lot more then those who play by puting their feet in the middle of two arrows and steping with heels and toes. |

Personally, I don't like the arcade because my feet are just a little too big. With my shoes on, they cover the arrow well, which then it doesn't register because i am not acctually toching the plastic.
I also like home because there's no stupid little kids ignoring the coin line, hogging the machiene, jumping around, selecting LoM heavy when I am not looking... _________________

i like the arcade cause it has the mixs and the mixes are better. the only way u can get the mixes on ps2 to buy them for like 70$ (if u know anywhere that sells it for less email me at [email protected] or just post it ) but i dont like how the arcade pad the arrows arent the same height as the pad so sometimes that screws me up. i like the home pad better but there isnt that good of songs and there arent any good games besided max 2 for ps2. so overall i like the arcade better and im gettin a little better at the arcade and gettin used to it. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF U KNOW A PLACE THAT SELLS DDR 5th MIX FOR CHEAP. thx |
