To all you doubles players: What's your best method for keeping your pads next to each other when playing doubles? I need advice. I'm using two ignitions by the way. Thanks. |

Well, to be honost it depends on your skill level. If you are playing on light it shouldnt be a problem. With standard and heavy, it becomes kinda hard to get the pads to stay together. I put one pad next to my couch so it wont move one way, then firmly put the other pad next to it, and then put something heavy behind each pad on the side of the pad not on the couch. So to diagram
couch pad pad somethingheavy
heavy heavy
Not the best solution, but short of nailing them to the floor, thats not a whole lot else you can do. |

I know this probably isnt what you want to do, but what about building a base for the pads? Get a piece of 4'x8'x1/2" plywood of pressboard, cut it to size, and put some raised molding around the edge to frame in the pads. If you make it the right size, but pads should sit right in there and not move. |

RSD has a great solution, it works awesome with metal pads, ive never seen it done with soft pads though.
You can also get a 4' x 7' sheet of anti slip mat to put under the pads, and tape the pads together? _________________

I had two ignition pads and I used pitterpanda's mod on them which can be found here http://www.ddrfreak.com/library/faqs-modding.php
After I modded both pads, I went to home depot and bought small door hinges and hinged the pads together. They would never split apart while playing doubles and the mod itself made the pads last longer. They also fold up which is cool. Those pads are long dead though. RIP my old ignitions. You did well. |

RSD...great idea, seems to be a project for a day I have off from work and school...oh wait...that's no day! grr
BMX, hinging them together after using that mod is a badass idea, I don't think I'd do it though. |

Duct Tape them. Works perfectly without modding. |

Hell yeah it does! A good coating of duct tape will hold those pads together. Throw some on the floor too so the pads dont migrate anywhere. Piece o cake. _________________
