yeah, good songs and everything (fav is .59) but is he/she real? cause i think that it would be like naoki, because almost noone makes short songs like that and makes them so dang good! _________________

almost none of them are REAL, persay, because they probably got paid $2 to make a song that we can DDR to. but, they probably are struggling bands who want to make it, yes. _________________

What do you mean, is he (and yes, it's a "he") REAL? I mean, he is a living, breathing human being that is walking on the Earth.
Is he a professional or anything? Not really, although we should consider Colors (radio edit). If the song is a "radio edit," it would make sense that the full version is actually played on the radio over in Japan or something... _________________

most songs are mainly set to be hard for some reason or another but some songs have to be short or else thry would be 13 footers _________________

you cant foreget that most songs are taken from full mixes and shortend by about half the song to fit into a minute and a half or so like the song sandstorm it has a full mix but a huge chunk of the song is cut out so it wouldnt be a 9 footer _________________

Now back on topic, the songs that DJ Taka has for Bemani are: .59, Abyss (The Heavens Remix)(though remixed by RYu), Leading Cyber. His beats are awsome!

dj TAKA is a real person. TaQ is a real person. They are both separate people. They have created music together as the group, "Outphase".
There. Hope that cleared stuff up.
P.S.- Naoki is a guy. _________________

Wow...I can't believe the sheer volume of ignorance contained in this thread. And I can't believe it took like 7 posts before someone who actually knew what they were talking about posted.
DJ Taka is a professional musician in the sense that he is employed by Konami and paid to make music for Bemani (and possibly other) video games. No, he does not have a record contract or any album releases or anything like that. It's the same situation as with Naoki...except whereas Naoki is primarily responisble for DDR, Taka is in charge of the Beatmania IIDX series. 99% of his songs debuted on Beatmania or Beatmania IIDX and a couple on Pop'n Music. All of the DJ Taka songs that appear in DDR are crossovers that appeared on other Bemani first.
No, it's not especially difficult to make a good song that's under 2 minutes.
Colors (radio edit) is called that because it's cut down from the full version...AFAIK, it never received any radio play in Japan or elsewhere. 20, November (radio edit), however, did.
Songs that DJ Taka has made for Bemani games are: Way too many to list. Anything by Taka, Lion Musashi, DJ Amuro and possibly DJ Setup (there's some debate on this) is his. Anything by OutPhase is Taka + TaQ. Get on Beat, Kotti wo Muiteyo, Glorious Days and Happy Wedding are all produced by Taka, but credited to the singer. If you've never heard of any of these, remember, Taka makes music for IIDX first and foremost.
And that should clear stuff up. _________________

Ah, cool, it's nice to finally see something definitive re: DJ Setup...previous speculation has been that it was another name for a TaQ/Taka collaboration, and it does seem like they worked together on Giudecca (thus explaining its inclusion on Bounce Connected)...and from the sound of it there's quite a few ideas being exchanged between the two of them regularly, if not outright collaborations...interesting. I totally agree with the statement that TaQ's rhythms are his strong suit while Taka is the melody expert...that's why OutPhase songs work so well in my opinion. _________________

Dj Taka is DJ Setup. But he is on TaQ's equipment/setup, rather than his own. _________________
