I don't want to see the following:
- expert players
- doubles players
- freestylers
- anyone in a competition
- an arcade with loud background noise
- a poor quality video where the screen is unclear
- spectators / cheering
- a video where you cannot see the player's feet
- a video turned sideways
Is there anyone who can link me to a video that is NONE of these things? Is there such a thing as a "normal" DDR video? |

| you want to see feet yet dont want a vertical view... Thats gonna be a pretty hard to get a readable screen with crisp clearness and horizontal. So you want like an at home video of a machine.? cuz I think I have one if I dig for it. You can't see the screen though, since it's far. |

Aren't most videos that are hosted from tournaments? So, there goes nearly the majority of videos people have.
And you don't want expert players, so, there's goes a lot more footage.
I mean, I dunno. I certainly can't help you since my whole collection is all of tournament footage sans the DDR Bloopers I and II.
The ONLY video I can think of that fits these restrictions is the footage of the day the first DDR version was being tested in Japan by two guys, I believe the day before DDR was released in Japan. That's it. (EDIT: Now that I think about it, that footage didn't show the players' feet).
How about telling us what you do want rather than what you don't. Then more people will likely be able to help.

I listed all the things I don't want to see because every video I have ever seen has one or more of those qualities!

Hmm...Sorry, at least I can't help ya. Most of my footage shows the full body, but either they're PAing on heavy, are AAAing a song on heavy, or freestyling.
There's a thread running around called "Post your own self videos thread" or something like that. You could find something there. But, even that's a stretch since most of those posters in that thread are freestylers or those who have a ton of heavy AAAs.

I could tape myself on my machine but then I don't have a host for videos.
Ok its a first mix machine with only a few songs, but its still a "THAT'S the dancing game"
Any requests for songs from first mix I could do?

He probabaly wouldn't be interested in me telesyncing* video filmed on a VHS camcorder at the arcade then being re-filmed using my Quick-Cam then... 
But anyhoo, I hear ya drench. A lot of the vidoes out there are surprisingly poor quality.
*- is that the correct term? |

| i dont really see why anyone would want to see a "normal" ddr video. so finding one would be difficult, especially a high quality one with nothing special about it. your best bet is to record yourself or have someone do it for you. getting good audio at an arcade would also be difficult. i think doing it on a home version would probably be a better option for you. |

There aren't that many "normal" videos around. I've seen a couple, but I don't have the link to them right now. As for why videos are so low quality, most camcorders don't take HQ shots, and the arcades are mostly dark anyways, which screws up the picuture even more. Further complicating the problem is the video size. If you want to take a HQ video that's 2 minutes long, perfect quality, and then put it onto your PC, you're looking at both an extremely large file, and a long upload time to wherever you're putting the video, or the person you're sending it too.
Overall, it's just too much of a pain to make a good HQ video. |

| I'm curious why you'd want video of someone playing on light or standard. It's the kinda thing you can see if you go to just about any arcade at any time of day. |

Okay guys, assume you never seen DDR before. If you see someone playing on heavy, the game will look too difficult. Yes, WE understand the game but say, my grandmother, would not. Add to it unnecessary spins and other "dance" type moves and the game looks even harder, and the response would be "You do THAT in the arcade?" Because I do not!
Light or Standard. Just a normal game - no fancy stuff - to show what DDR is basically like.
The size of the video does not matter because it could be sent through yahoo messenger, or uploaded somewhere until I snag the file after which it can be taken down. |

| do you really want to show these possible "tapes" to your grandma? i took my grandparents to an arcade once, and they seemed to get it. if i may ask, what are your plans for these videos? or do you just want to know if they exist. |

I know what you mean... Kathleen said that I was trying to show off when I did Rhythm & Police... I failed it but I was just trying to practice. Then she called me insane... T_T.
I have a video with this guy freestyling Groove... a very bad freestyler... waving his arms around... its funny actually. |

So why not just demonstrate yourself? You don't even need a pad... just show what the footwork is like.
Not only is it very unlikely your going to find many videos of light and standard players, it's very rare to find ANY videos where you can see the players' feet AND be able to make out the screen well enough to understand the correspondence. |

I agree that if the videos suppossed to just be to show someone how to play then there's really no need for it. besides there's always beginers mode (I so can't spell)  Oh and my grandma understands the game (granted she can't really play it because her legs are bad but she does understand how you play it. |

Thank you! These videos may have to suffice. The camera person did get a good shot or two of the screen in some videos, then backed up again to watch the players. Would have been nice to see more of the screen than a few seconds' worth. Seeing two players simultaneously performing the same moves helps to show that one does in fact read step instructions from the screen too.
Watching two guys play Ordinary World on light is soooo boring! Think I'll show the standard mode.  |

I know someone has already given you videos but these are pretty well. The camera angles are good, and the sound is moderate. Every plays on heavy and get AAA's. So I'm not sure if it really qualifies.
