People that are excellent at using the bar and are bad w/o

I know this guy who is incredible at DDR (max 300 , unlimited drop out dead end, oni stealth blind fold ) when you take away the bar and tell him not to use it he BARELY passes simple light . I only use the bar on 3 songs ( 2 i hardly play) everything else is freestyle . I know somebody excellent without bar bad with the bar . Stories... BoA rulesz!!

Well, let's see. I'm really good when I use both my feet, but I have a hard time when someone breaks my kneecap and I'm forced to only use one. I mean, wtf. I'm such a two-legger.

Anyway, so what? Players have all kinds of different quirks and it really doesn't matter, imo.

There are two types of people.
Example:

Yasu: excellent with and without bar.
Take: excellent without the bar(sometimes he does use bar though)

Um... There is NO way he can be able to pass Max300 with the bar and barely pass basic songs.... It's impossible...

I agree that theres no way he can do max 300 with bar and barely pass light songs without. I use the bar for 10 footers, and I use it sometimes just because I want to, or when I am pa'ing, but I can play pretty well without it.

well, i'm one of those people who got a home version, soft pad and had'nt played in the arcades for a long time. when i got there, i saw the bar and heard people do better with the bar, but i tried it and sucked.

Actually, for whatever reason I can't really pass 10 foots WITH the bar. Which leaves all the balance problems for the really damn awkward streams...

Either way, goes to show that bar raping doesn't necessarily take less skill

And one handed bar raping can look quite stylish as well. Unfortunately I practice on home metal pads a lot and there's no bar there.

For 10 footers, I use bar. but nothing else. I can still pass all ten footers without bar, with the exception of LOM and PSMO, but, for example, when playing PS and PSM in paranoia brothers extreme, I'll use the bar. It just saves energy. Without bar, I'm alot worse at ten footers, but all other songs I can do well.

umm yea...wtf... if you could pass max300 with the bar, and couldnt pass basic songs without it, then you really need help.

ack this is def gonna turn into a thread arguing bar raping. and yes it is possible because if he plays with the bar, hell never learn to balance without it, even if hes doing standard songs.

I try to never use the bar... if I need practice... I'll just grab the stepcharts and copy it over to edit mode on max2 with a corresponding bpm. Its what i'm doing for exotic ethnic and rhythm & police. Slow the song down and just see how it goes... <i'm starting to like exotic ethnic>
