Are U TOO Competative

I notice a lot of time when I go out to arcades that some of the people who are there just hate when someone's doing something they can't do and call them show off's or whatever and get really angry over nothing. I can't do the whole freestyle thing all that well but I like to watch other people do it (or the double thing either) I don't see why you just can't ask the person for help or tips on it or something. It supposed to be about having fun and when people get that way it's not fun anymore.

I'm not competitive, I just play for fun. If someone is better than me, they obviously had more practice than me, and I must work harder to get to their level of play.

I really don't care what level you are on, just as long as you know how to play the game.

The only time I am really competitive is when I play at the arcade with my friend. were the only ones ever there, so we give each other flak just to mess around. If someone is better then me, more power to them, and hopefully one day I can be at their level. I LIKE watching people who can AA 10 footers, its fun to watch.

I don't know anyone at the arcade that I go to that say stuff like that. Some people get mad when they get a miss or something like that during a song but that's it.

People who act like that are jealous, and it's their way of reacting to feelings of insecurity. Other means of reacting might be to make fun of someone or try to mess them up. It's very annoying.

I am not that competetive. I will happily teach people a few techniques ONLY if they ask me. I am not that type of person who goes and tells them things out of the blue. (I get shy..)

I am also nice to people who are not as good. I don't laugh at them (sometimes in my mind....does that count)? nor do I go and yell out to the world how bad they did.

This as nothing to do with competitive or not. It more a matter of being .... aww crap... I only know the word in French... You know, when you take things too personnally, like jokes, remarks, etc. Anyway, I'm REALLY competitive, but I don't mind people better than me. I love competition.

i tend to be competitive in the arcade, and some people take that to be me as being an a.sshole. people do annoy the frick out of me when they constantly pester me if i can pass some song so i pass it and they tell me i am showing off. or they'll play a song and be proud that they B it and i wanted to play it the next round and i'll be happy i SDG it and they get pissed. but i like to be competitive in everything, but i do like to have fun with DDR and somedays i wont even try to AA anything, i'll just have fun with my friends.

Little15, I know what you mean about those types of people in the arcade. Sometimes they get so angry that they simply refuse to play the game while someone better than them is there... it just takes the fun out of it.

Me and my friend joke around about being competitive but if I really was then I would get so totally served. He's better at FSing and PAing so I really don't compare but who cares it's fun and that's all that matters.

I've been guilty of being hard on myself sometimes when I play, but that's only if I've had a bad day. I'm usually not too competitive, I play to have a good time. I did however have a group of guys watch me play one day and they got annoyed because I guess to them I was better than them (I'm still trying to work up to catas and couldn't even dream of passing any 10 footers, so I'm not that great

) and wanted to challenge me. One guy got so irked he stomped off the mat before the final stage was done. I guess he couldn't possibly handle the fact that a girl could actually play

I wanted to say "Guys, get a grip. It's just a game!"

I'm not competitive at all...although I could always put on a show. Yeah, it really annoys me too when I see people trying to make themselves look impressive when he/she is better off not doing it in the first place.

I saw this dude at the mall, oh my god, he was so annoying.

First, he sat on the pad for about half the song limit. Then he started selecting with his feet on that scroll panel...then he started playing with his hands in his pockets. Holy crap, he wasn't even that good. Funny thing was he was struggling since his hands were pocketed. But nooo, he got the oohs and ahhs from the crowd anyway. I felt a lot better after beating him when he made us play MAX 300 (He was stupid to pick it anyway, as he wasn't ready to play such a song). Maybe he'll get a better sense of reality now.

...it's just annoying how people try to make others percieve them to be something they aren't, even through DDR.

I've gotten so competative, I used to play for fun, now I try my very best and more. If someone's doing better than me when they vs. me, I push myself to the limits.

I think also a big difference here is between competition and how to be a good sport about things. There isn't anything wrong with wanting to do your best at DDR. It's a good incentive to get better and all that jazz. However, if someone is better than you, don't be a poor sport about things and just accept that the person your playing is at a higher ability than you. The DDR experience is supposed to be fun; being a sore loser takes the fun out it.

I really dont care what people think of me when i am playing. My Friend Glenn i was at the mall with him and he got a AA on the Total score after the 3 stages and i got an A and he is always ooohhhhh i know he messin around. So why do people just go crazy if they are better than them?
