I'd say so, besides all this Oni garbage, i think in (or if) the next ddr mix, we need a new difficulty! heavy songs are too easy now, we need to have a difficulty that puts all songs on par with max's and so on. whos with me? I always used to enjoy going to the arcade and playing Dead End, passing it with a D and being happy..' but that was 3 years ago, now all i play is max 300 psm oni ec and its getting really stale.

So you want... basically... Challenge steps for every song...
Noticing the quality of steps coming out for the new home version songs... I don't know if this would be a good idea...

Well, hopefully Konami doesn't take this route, otherwise you and maybe two other people will be the only ones playing.

If you think you can do it, then all the more power to you, but I doubt it would happen. You may want to see if there's going to be an In The Grrove anywhere near you, I think that goes all the way up to 13 feet.

If PSMO has gotten too easy for you, how are you not sick of playing DDR altogether? disturb.gif

thats not really possible cuz the maxes are hard because of the bpm which u cant change. pretty much u just want more 10-footers mm? uhh...get the home extreme version and edit LOM so they have all eighth note jumps or something. they wont have another mix out for awhile if they're have one at all, so...PIU? laugh.gif

Sounds like you've reached the top goal that you've strived for and are wondering.... what now?

DDR has so much more to offer than the extreme physical challenge presented by the step charts. In one's quest to be the best, it can be all too easy to forget that. Here are a few suggestions.

Since songs with difficult step charts are becoming stale and boring to you, how about ignoring them altogether for a little while. Try picking songs that *sound good* to you, or songs that have *fun step charts*, regardless of how easy they are.

Play Doubles. It may cost double the credits, but it's well worth it. Moving your center of gravity from one side to the other while performing nifty crosses and spins is (in my opinion) much more fun than staying in one spot moving your feet rapidy.

Take up Freestyle. Yep, this actually requires the player to dance (OH NO!) E1.gif

If you still feel that you need a challenge to have fun, try using some of the modifiers.

Just remember that there are plenty of ways to play and enjoy this game, or almost any video game for that matter, other than shooting straight for the goal or high score. Few gamers nowadays realize this, and end up missing out on so much fun in many games.

well i really don't like it when they make a 9-footer out of a song that isn't meant to be a hard song. like Colors oni.

You don't think Colors is meant to be hard? Apperently you haven't played IIDX...

If Singles get stale for you, try doubles.

You could also try out S4R, 6-option, or even stealthing. Besides, i'd be rather unhappy if every song on a next mix was like max300 etc..i'd get bored really fast because i'm a sick fuck who actually enjoys playing stuff like L'amour, stuff that makes you think instead of being like oh hax i need to move my feetz teh fast!111 for every single song. Make edits, or find edits on the internet, i assure you, there is some nasty stuff out there (like an 11 foot edit for love sugar E9.gif)

Man, I'm with you all the way. I think playing S4R and 6-option is probably the most extreme in terms of difficutly. Hell, I'm practically a demi-god when it comes to singles, but doubles made me look like a noob all together. So I second the notion on doubles. All I have to say is that doubles is hard. E2.gif

Also, trying to playing the MAXes and survivor on shuffle and see how easy it is for you. riiight.gif

Edit: I wish Konami would have made an expert mode like ITG's. Then we would have so many noobs thinking they are so 1337.

I completely agree with trying doubles. I just did for the first time last weekend; I just barely passed four out of my five songs with D's (and *all* were 2 footers). I found that rather interesting, because in Singles, I'm A'ing Heavy 8-9 footers. It's like you're learning how to play DDR all over again when you move over to doubles.

I thinkit would be cool to have challenge steps for every song. I'm not saying that I'm bored with heavy steps but it would give us more of a variety when we play. Trying doubles is a good idea though (I'm horrible at it...3 foot songs only pleeze). I doubt though that Konami will want to make oni steps for every song so at this point doubles is your best bet.

Or try stealth E4.gif . Just a thought happy.gif

I think the general concensus is yeah, seems easy for people these days to pass pretty much everything, and we do need a little more of a challenge thats more creative than cranking up the BPM. In The Groove looks interesting, though I had a hard time finding info about it. What about a system supporting 8 or 9-panel play? That could offer some crazy new steps.
