Please tell me what you think. I always get nervous before clicking the big scary "buy" button.

Thanks!

Looks great to me. I like my Red Ignition, and it looks like it's got the same foam thing, then again, that pic could just be taken from the Red Ignition site and been photoshoped on there. Other than that, it looks great. I wonder if you can play Pump it Up on those?

I bought this pair not too long ago.

They are Cypher games Ignition pads. Personally I replaced the foam with a wood board cut to fit. I found the one time I played with the foam these were too squishy. If you're planning to do somethng like wood inside then you're fine.

If you do decide to buy, I suggest this auction instead $29.95 instead of the $32

Oh yeah, I never thought that the 1 inch foam might be too "squishy." I wonder if the 2.0cm foam would be better?

Those pads look extremely sweet. drool.gif I wouldn't mind having just one of those! I have to shop on ebay sometime when I have the money.

It's a lot faster to discuss such things if you have an instant messaging program. It's amusing to me that both of these are the only ones that I've had so far so I can give you some insight on what they'll be like.

The first link you posted are the newest ones I just recently got and from the same auction. So far they are great as long as you wear socks when you play. The material kinda bothers my feet when I've scraped in order to hit an arrow quickly.

The second link is the ignition I recently retired due to non responsive Right and Down arrows after 6 months of having them.

In my opinion they're both really good pads, however I do highly suggest modifying them with a wood board inside just because it will save you from having to replace them sooner. And don't expect the expensive Red Octanes to be any different when it comes to the foam inserts. The foam only leads to internal tearing, I've seen it in mine and I've seen it in friends'.

In my opinion it is easiest and best to just buy the cheap ignitions and modify them if Ignition pads are the route you chose.

Thank you soooo very much. It's nice to have a place to come to and ask these questions, especially for someone like me who is totally new to this. Your input on the pads has been very helpful and I have lucked out to find someone who has the very same pads. I don't know how hard of usage the pad will get since I mostly will use it as exercise, so it might not get as worn out as you "DDR Maniacs'" pads. E13.gif

OK I could be crazy here but lets check this 2 cm. out.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=62053&item=3090850213&rd=1

If you look at the corner picture where they show the zipper and the foam, beyond the start button it shows a green button. If you look on the larger one, the green button isnt there. These are 2 pictures of two totally different pads! Also the foam insert is white, and you cant see the zipper in the main picture. It screams 3rd party garbage to me. Maybe im wrong, tell me what you think when you get them!

The one that I had before was the one with the grey arrows and the white foam, lasted me 6 months. If it's the one with the green arrow then it's probably one like Clover has. I know her personally and her pad was pretty cool when she brought it over.

Celtchic I do suggest if you are looking into those you ask the seller which of the two it is and hope they know. Either that or it may be a good idea to Email one of the other buyers that recently bought the same set to ask them what they think.

Yeah, I do see that the two pictures show two different pads. I hate it when eBayers use pictures that aren't really of the exact product they're selling. I think that is confusing. I've decided to look for non-ebay sites that sell these and ran across this one. The foam looks awfully pourous, but I do like that it mentions the raised arrows which might keep me from looking down at my feet as often:

Do you think that the white foam was less squishy? It looks to be about only 2.0 cm, too. I play on top of carpet already so maybe I don't need the full one inch.

The remind me of Red Octane ones which isn't a bad thing so long as you aren't paying $100 for it.

Almost all Ignitions are going to have the raised arrows.

You are correct, that this should be in Console Games, however we are here discussing it and no mod has locked it yet. E10.gif
