As you can see here, even though I created a 256 x 80 PNG file in Photoshop, once DWI loads it it looks all messed up! Anyone know what causes this error and how I can repair it? I appreciate any and all help and will have 2 step files to release once I learn how to fix my error.

Thanks in advance! E4.gif E1.gif

Rotate it so the bottom of it rises at a 45 degree angle towards the top RIGHT hand corner, then it will turn it, and look right. The reson it is distorted, is because it will turn the PNG files as a DWI. Look at other PNG DWI files to see what I mean.

Okay, I did that and it seems to have worked perfectly. I have read that it degrades the image quality to do it this way though. Also I have looked at some of the PNGs from stepfiles downloaded from DDRuk and they are not turned like this...

Thank you very much for you help, It's nice to see the image upright at last.

Raligard, don't do this, for specifically the reason you mentioned. Just make the banner the way you originally did, place it in the songs folder, and rebuild your songlist. DWI is kinda buggy about the situation where you've already rebuilt the songlist to include your song but you add in the banner later, and it usually mistakenly rotates the banner until you rebuild the songlist. It's some kind of relic from back when DWI had the 4th Mix interface.

Please don't tell people to use rotated banners. They're obsolete, useless, blur the image, and makes the game do more work just to un-rotate it. They should never be used anymore.

Because you always stare at the banner... It's just a hobby. blink.gif disgust.gif Banners in general are useless, you don't need them. The game doesn't have feelings, it doesnt care if it has to do more work, and if your computer can't handle it, get a new frick computer.

Thanks Nasoj, that solved the issue. I knew there had to be a way to do it without rotating the image. I'll update the step files when I get a chance to. I appreciate the advice.
