My brother is 13 (going on 14 in June) and he can do some Beginner/Light songs. I really don't care when they play my game on the X-Box, I just don't want them to stomp.

No one really cares what your age is in my arcade, just as long as you can play, and play well. I have seen 10-year-olds play on Light, and no one gives them any slack.

Whenever someone gives you a compliment on your dancing skills, or tells you how to improve, then it is always the polite thing to say "thank you".

My brothers got you all beat, started clearing light songs when he was 3! I should post what hes done this year (he's 6 now). Hes been kind of rusty ever since I stopped playing DDR on a regular basis, but he can clear a lot of 7 footers and even a couple of 8 footers. Im trying to get him to be completely heavy and even clearing 9s by the summer.

I started when I was just turning 14 and I'm 15 now and I still own everyone thats twice my age at my arcade and it pisses them off. Clearly age makes no difference biggrin.gif

I'm 14. Don't be a jackass. Noone cares about how old you are. Here, you are only measured for your personality and your DDR skill.

Yeah, as long as you don't act stupid to other players and you're OK at DDR, no one should treat you badly. But then again, I don't really know, for I'm a 12 year old at 5'9, and everyone thinks I'm much older.

I know a kid who can pass all 10s but can't hold the bar and step on the up arrow at the same time. He also has to bounce on freeze arrows to get them to hold.

im only 15 (started in april '02) but i am 6'1 270 or so. im fast for somke one my age and size (passed 2 10's) but little kids dont have any weight to hold them back and on top of that they have countless energy/stamina. so its different for a bigger guy to do it then a small person

I mean 16-17 yer olds have more developed minds than younger kids.

My friend was at a SAFT tournament (Swing around fun town) and there was this Japanese guy about 9 and he could do Paranoia Survivor on the Extra Stage.

Wow, two people who admit they're COPPA violators in the same thread! <3

Anyway, it shouldn't really matter what age is, like almost everyone else has said. I started when I was 13 (just about a year ago, whee) and I've played against people who're at least ten years older, and they didn't give a rip how old/what gender I was. Personally, I find it incredibly stupid when people are like, "LOLZ OMFG That little chikz0r is t3h rulZ!!" And just remember, it doesn't happen only on DDR. For almost every arcade game, there's gonna be someone that's not in the "normal range of playing".

How devoloped does your mind have to be in order to read arrows. Its not rocket science when the arrow gets to the top you hit the corresponding button.

Tell that to my friends... They had to buy MAX2 to fully understand. Now Beatmania... Lack of a zone, just a bar, that gets me every time...

I am 14 and I can clear Sakura without a second thought... Dont start with the age ***t, cause it's mostly athletic ability and eye-foot coordination... And how often you play, too...

Just to get off onto the also well worn "OMFG, He plays DDR!!!" path, I am 5'10" and am not the thinnest guy out there (220 lbs), but I can move like any other person that walks up... I even surprised myself by getting to the 3-step runs in legend of MAX. The ones at the end. Hows that for insane?

Ever heard of DDRbot? He is under 13 and is an extremely skilled player.

I've seen a girl that's 10 years old play heavy on doubles with her back turned. Crazy stuff...

blink.gif

I don't find it strange that younger kids play it.

I can see however how doubles might affect them. Being small sure doesn't help you with doubles. I can just picture this little kid trying to reach over to the down arrow from the other side laugh.gif. Poor kid.

Nicest thing said to me: "Woah! He's good at that!" - 8 yr old girl

Worst thing said to me: "Just get off dude, you suck." - 16 yr old @#!$

Ok, is ever one that is good at your place 15 years or older and is tall?? Probibly not, well, i hope not. Because, at my local arcade, everytime i play, ever one is annoying me at the fact that im 13 and im just as good or better than them. A lot of junk i hear is like, "wow, little kid is good at DDR." Or "Common, high five buddy, you just beat me." "HOW OLD ARE YOU, LIKE 9?!" I still don't understand why its that weird for me to obsess pver DDR and be 13 years old. This is not a bragging or showing off thread that im 13 and do 10 feet songs or anything. Im just wondering if people at your venue are assholes to kids my age or flattered when you or he/she picks heavy at the beginning or what. Im sick of people not wanting to play with me because they don't want to get shown up by a kid my age or something like that is what they actually say. But i don't worry about not playing with anyone anymore because i sucked one of my friends in and now he is almost as good as me. He is on these forums "D.D.arrr.Pirate" or something like that. SO it concludes,

Are you a @$$ Hole to kids my age that are better than you, and say little buddy and stuff?
Or do you just think its cool to be really good at DDR nomatter what the age.

lEaRn YeR mAnNeRs n00b! I'm 13 as well, and I don't go around complaining about assholes, cuz you know what? I think yer just makin an excuse to brag...

well i'm 12, and i know another 12 yr old near me that goes to my arcade, and he can do MAX300 with his back turned and i can AAA a few hvy songs, and no 1 ever makes fun of me, and i'm only like 5'5'' or sumthin. the only thing i've ever heard someone say to me that kinda related to my height, was once when i was doin witchdoctor hvy and this dude was like OMG LOOK AT HIS FEET! HE'S LIKE A TURBO BOY OR SOMETHING! thus how i got my name. so unless ur being a real pain in the butt and bragging and showing up everyone and asking them for rematches once u've beaten them really badly then i don't think anyone would bug you. unless you have some real jerks at ur arcade.
