Some decent REAL ddr players? (For a movie!) [Movie Goons]

Hey guys! I'm in the process of writing a screenplay for kind of a short movie (Its still totally just rough but I'm guessing its going to be 30-40 minutes long, so its more like a 2 part tv show) and I figured it would be fun to have a part of it include DDR. Well I was just wondering if there were any good ddr players that wanted to be included. Right now the budget is tight (Probably just a few thousand dollars) so they'd have to be local (California, just moved) or willing to come here on their own. I'm looking for 2 male ddr players, both really good, but different in appearance [opposites whenever possible, dark hair/light hair, etc] (theyre going to be rival types in this part, its maybe a 5 minute part) but both good looking. Its showbusiness so obviously it helps to be good looking. Also, this should be easy, I would need about 6-8 others, all mixed race, at least half girls, and one of the girls willing to do a kissing scene (she should also be pretty or at least cute).

Like I said we're just in the beginning but I'm guessing filming will start late summer, the time when we would need the ddr players would be late summer too since that probably works best for you students. I just got into DDR myself, and while I'm good I'm sure there are some wizards at the game or something!

If you are interested and willing to participate please let me know! I'm located near Newport Beach, CA but we have no idea where we'll shoot the interior scenes (There will be both interior and exterior shots, the exterior shots will be in Orange County). We doubt it will be too hard to find a place that will let us, its more just a matter of finding a place that works with what we need to do.

Any way I don't know many people here at ddrfreakk so if you have any suggestions for what to do please contribute anything you can. What should the cutoff be for good-ness?

If you know anybody that might work well for this please let me know point them too this thiread!

Also, of course acting experience is prefered, but not required. You should be able to act though.

Right now we're operating under the assumption that pay will be minimal if any. If there is pay look for something in the area of 50/day for a weekend, plus food, plus a copy of the finished product.

I'm in Newport Beach staying with family friends temporarily (moving closer to LA soon *crosses fingers). How many scripts have I written? Finished products? Ones that went into production? This will be my 2nd complete project, but my first serious one. I have probably written a dozen different scripts, but most of them were in creativity exercises so they would not have been realistic shoots (Most of my scripts tend to follow a person over a course of years, so the aging of the character would require casting ability which I don't have, not to mention just the fact that most of them would require a feature films budget simply for all the content).

I used to live in Texas but I'm over here to go to your cheap community colleges and hopefully transfer to USC (film of course).

Without giving away the script I will try to explain in more detail in a few days exactly what the "DDR" people will be doing so you all have an idea of whats going on. I have to say I'm a little disappointed since not that many people seem to be interested in actually participating

Also the reason I am hoping for acting experience is because the groups will be shown at 2 different time periods, perhaps 6 months apart, and they will need to accurately display completely different relationships with the same people, so it will take a little acting. (ie used to be friends, now rivals, typical theme for that part, a little cliche i know)

Well I was just going to ask for a copy of the script, but sound like you won't be handing those out. Anywho, you may want to go right to the source and post this in the California forum instead, I bet you'll get a better response there.

hey there,

howz it goin? me, juss chillin... i read a topic that you want to make a movie about ddr. interesting.. is this a project for your class or something? i remember that i did a project about ddr for speech class and a friend of mine did it for his english class or whatever (both projects were for college courses) as for a movie on ddr, just make it your home movie. (i dont know if anybody suggested this idea) it's fun making a home movie w/ few of your friends doing what you guys love to do. that was what i did...i taped my ex and my friends play ddr and those days were awesome. anyway, gotta go for now so hope to hear from u soon.
