Um..i didn't read the 8 pages of stuff before my post, I just thought i'd put my two cents in...or 1 and a half...:/

As Far as using the bar goes, i never have and never will. I simply do not see the purpose, it doesn't aid me in any realy way. I of course only play for recreation, a double a is the highest rating i care about. Plus, you don't need the bar, really, for any of the songs.

That's me, though.

Me, I bar rape occasionlly. I really only do it on 10's, and when im getting a little lazy on catas. In my opinion, if you passed it you passed it. Don't matter if you used the bar, speed mods or not, it is still an impressive feat. Yes, the bar makes it easier on some songs, but with songs that are crossover hells such as EE and R&P it makes it quite difficult. I see absolutly no wrong with using the bar, it is there. so use it as you must, a score is a score, if you passed you passed and its just a freaking game.. Although an addicting one at that, we all play for fun, so let us play how we choose to without whining and moaning about how WE decide how to play it. It takes some amount of skill to use the bar, which bar haters don't understand at all.. I say, and this is to all bar haters that have never or hardly ever use the bar, use it on a difficult cata (one with crossover paticulary), or a 10 footer. you will find that it does take skill and practice to beable to use it effectivly without messing up. Use it, you will get a lower score then what your use too, then maybe, you will understand that it isn't that great of advantage, except for stamina wise. Like as i said before, it makes crossover hells songs a pain, and if you passed using the bar. WHO CARES you freaking passed the song. Last thought, i totally agree to the one who mentioned that its My money, ill play how i want to.

My pad at home doesn't have a bar, so I never use it in the arcade because i'm not used to it.

I know this is off subject but you can build a bar

On Subject: I think it is kinda good to use the bar but i think it is terrific to not.. If you use the bar if you must plz do i dont want you dying. But this is my opinion try not to use it because lets say you are in high school or in grade school about to go in to high school like me. If you build a better Stamina it will help you with more things in the future like soccer or basketball or baseball

I've only actually grabbed the bar in two instances: When I lose my balance in Max 300 and Cartoon Heroes, and thats only briefly, and when I lean up against the bar watching other people play. I see the the bar there only for balance issues only. Using the bar is basically cutting your body weight in half, and to me that's just plain cheating. I'd feel guilty If I used the bar as a crutch. Of course, this applies mainly to passing a song for the first few times. If you're wanting to PA a 10 footer, I can perfectly understand where you're coming from. Although using the bar ALL THE TIME, in my book, is not acceptable.

Most the people that play at the arcade I go to use the bar. Most of them use it for hard catas/10's which I can understand. I don't understand when people have to use it for light/standard, there's some people who do that and it just seems really weird to me. I personally try to stay away from the bar, I feel it's a greater accomplishment for me to do a really hard song without using the bar. I'm not saying that full comboing 10's with it isn't an awesome accomplishment, it most definitely is, but I think I feel better when I pass song's knowing I didn't have to rely on the bar to do so.

or, you can get a Soft Pad and then gatta piece of plywood under it, then make a bar outta 2x4's and nail the bar to the plywood, then tape, or somthing, the pad to the plywood. Thats what one of my friends did
