Is it WEIRD or something that im 13 and i play DDR!?

Ok, is ever one that is good at your place 15 years or older and is tall?? Probibly not, well, i hope not. Because, at my local arcade, everytime i play, ever one is annoying me at the fact that im 13 and im just as good or better than them. A lot of junk i hear is like, "wow, little kid is good at DDR." Or "Common, high five buddy, you just beat me." "HOW OLD ARE YOU, LIKE 9?!" I still don't understand why its that weird for me to obsess pver DDR and be 13 years old. This is not a bragging or showing off thread that im 13 and do 10 feet songs or anything. Im just wondering if people at your venue are assholes to kids my age or flattered when you or he/she picks heavy at the beginning or what. Im sick of people not wanting to play with me because they don't want to get shown up by a kid my age or something like that is what they actually say. But i don't worry about not playing with anyone anymore because i sucked one of my friends in and now he is almost as good as me. He is on these forums "D.D.arrr.Pirate" or something like that. SO it concludes,

Are you a @$$ Hole to kids my age that are better than you, and say little buddy and stuff?
Or do you just think its cool to be really good at DDR nomatter what the age.

My little brother is still 12 for another... 16 days before his birthday. He does pretty much everything blah blah blah. It's nothing special playing if you're younger just like if a girl went playing something hard. It's nothing special. My brother is really good to and owns a lot of people. Nothing special though... I don't have a problem with it.

Nah, it's not that strange. I have a brother who's 10 and it sounds like he's around your level. (passing ten footers, AAA'ing a few Heavy songs, a good PA'er) I'm not mean to people who play DDR that are younger than I, because I wouldn't want someone older being mean to me. I know it sounds old-fashioned, but I try to treat others how I'd want to be treated by them.

Um...yeah, stomping on 4 arrows doesn't exactly require any skills that improve with age. If anything kids are at an advantage because if they're still growing it's likely that they've still got a boatload of energy with nothing better to do with it, their bodies aren't falling apart, etc.

Eh... I'm 13 and I've never felt a negative vibe from older people. Plus, it's sorta like flattery. You feel good about yourself when you're younger and you beat an older person. It's quite fun. Of course, I've never played with someone else other than my brother or a person my age. As said before, I believe this is a plea for attention... just disguised. It's a kind of move that I would do.

I'm 13 and I can do just about any song that there is. If people tease you about being little, challenge them to a DDR match and if you win, tease them!!

Age doesn't matter with DDR. If you are old enough to press arrows with your feet than you can sure enough play DDR.

I have been playing since I was about 13 to 14 years old, now being 16 going on 17 it is still no different.

I am 13 turning on 14 .The disadvantage it that we dont have as much Stamina as alot of people do.
My friend Glenn is only 14 and he is one of the best at my arcade he can do Max 300 PS alot of those songs. but he ahs been playing ddr since he was 11. So he has alot of Stamina because he played every day and practiced. another disadvantage is we can't read as fast as a 16 or 17 yr old.

I'm only 14 and i play heavy and stuff...no one every says anything to me unless they're telling me good job. People think i'm older though because i'm tall (i'm 5'8) so that's probably why I don't get called little buddy or anything.
