Believe it or not, the date I joined the DDR Freak forum was on 20, November! Just like the song! Anyway, DDR Turns 6 years old! I just hope Konami will go out with a big bang w/ DDR and make a Grand type mix to celebrate the true "end" of DDR.

If I didn't have to work on the 10th, I'd celebrate DDR's b-day by hitting up the arcade and $50 on the DDR machines.... But since I do work, I'll just DDR like there's no tomorrow when I get home! _________________

Aaron's Website wrote: | Released in October of 1998 | Hmm, you should work on your reading skills. Also, there were no 9 footers in DDR 1.0, 1.5 or 2nd Mix. In fact, in DDR 1.0, the highest rated song was only a 7 footer.
Actually, DDR was in some arcades in September of 1998. (NOT 1997.) There was an arcade in Osaka that had a DDR machine at least a week and a half or so before the Fall 1998 Tokyo Game Show, which would put it out in the tail end of September (the game show was in the early part of October). An Australian friend of mine told me about a game he saw in Osaka that was "like Beatmania, except you played it with your feet." I didn't get to play it myself until the Fall 1998 TGS.
EDIT: For that matter, I've noticed a couple of errors on Aaron's website there. DDR 1.0 had no Maniac single mode, nor Double Another. DDR 1.5 didn't have Double Maniac. It also wasn't quite the same as "DDR 1.0 with bugfixes," they added the Internet Ranking feature and two new songs: "Trip Machine", and "Make It Better." _________________

You know, I don't even have that page linked from the DDR page anymore, because I never got around to updating it in ages, and I knew there were many details I had to touch up, yet somehow people still find the thing...I am at a loss for words.
I forgot about the 2 songs added in 1.5st/th/rd mix, though. I'll make a personal note of that. |
