I have a BNS DX Ignition pad for almost 6 months as a 7-9 footer. Basically a clone with similar to equal quality as an RO. Despite the massive tearing inside, the inserts that raise the arrows have yet to be displaced, and still work perfectly fine. Not sure if you guys are doing something different making the inserts become displaced.

Greetings To All,
I was just wondering if anyone has purchased the Dual Platform Ignition Pad. I am thinking about getting it for my birthday, how does it hold up and any probs with the multi-platformness.

Madkatz Beat Pad, at least that's what I think it's called... Anyway, it's a great, cheap soft pad. Just tried it out for the first time last night. On sale for $10 at Target!

On most other soft pads, since I have large feet, I end up hitting the corner arrows and it screws me up, since it corresponds to another arrow. However, this Madkatz one, when hitting the corner arrows, it does nothing during gameplay. Amazing!!

Lol, please don't ever say a madcats beat pad is amazing ever again lol. They're OK if your on light mode but unless you mod the pad it'll start crinkling and folding up in the middle of a heavy song, not to mention the buttons start sticking on the pad frown.gif I like the regular konami pads alot better than the madcats pads, but the bottom arrow on mine broke after about a month and a half, and I didn't even use it that much.

ddrnation pads have an inferior/softer foam than RedOctane or BuyNShop. ddrnation are made by buynshop and it's almost the same as the BNS DX-Xtreme just w/o the hard foam. If you look on ebay and find the seller discount-auction , he is selling 2 DDRNation pads for $36. DDRNation and BNS pads, I think have comparable quality as RedOctane, given the same circumstances.

From the picture alone, it looks like soft foam.

They work, but they aren't very good and not worth the money.

As I just answered a question in a PM, I thought I'd update people wrt Vortz pads. For whatever reason (I guess the deal was too good to last) the two hard foam PS2 Ignition deal for $30 was taken down. frown.gif Anyway, glad I got mine. E1.gif But for those wanting hard foam for cheap, there's still a similar deal, just $10 bucks more, and for Xbox. $20 each. Just buy two, and he'll combine shipping to $20 (very resonable). So that's $60 total including shipping.

Also, as a general FYI to those looking for pads, try looking around the net at other stores. levelsix.com, buynshop.com, etc are good. If you find a good Playstation deal, you can pick up converters to make them work if you have a Xbox (and vice versa). Just remember that you want to get pads with hard (or ultra dense) foam in them, as it feels much better and is more accurate. The other option is to buy pads with bad foam in them and then buy the inserts seperately, from the stores mentioned above. You might not notice it when you're starting out, but one day you will. I started on some of the thin ones, and it was bad. Watch out for the ignition pads with lightweight foam. Usually this is referred to as v2.0 foam. Good luck everybody!

I don't believe there is a fix w/o opening the pad. And even if you do open the pad, its going to be really messy and not worth the effort for a soft pad (assuming its soft pad w/o inserts). Solution, by a new pad.

Oh, cause I have an ignition pad where the insert raising the arrows is offset from the placement and it has the soft foam. I'm not sure if it was like that from beginning or gradually came to be like that. The insert prob wasn't held in with enough adhesive of some sort when it was being made. I have a BNS ignition for almost 6 months playing heavy songs and none of the inserts under the arrows has shifted.

If this is your only pad, I wouldn't try to surgerically see what the problem is and try to fix it. Cause you could make the pad not work anymore or any fix would hold during gameplay. But it you want to risk it, open the pad up and see whats happening.

Maybe the layer setup is going to be like this?
top fabric
insert
electrical contact + plastic
foam
electrical contact + plastic
btm fabric

the raised arrows seem to be between the senor and the very top part that i step on, the only way it seems i can more the raised arrow is to cut the senor, now if i cut away from the senors under the arrows and go around it and then just tape it back up will that destroy all the sensors?
