no, no one wants to give better directions. Get your computer-whiz mind in gear and figure it out yourself.

Well, I dare say that's uncalled for.

that's not an insult. I'm simply saying that no one is going to give you better directions. Tough.

And I was not implying that that was an insult. Simply stating that it is rude in itself that you apparently know how to do it but purposely witheld the informaion, and the other part about what you said, the computer-whiz remark, was insulting, if only mildly so.

Anywhore, we have both tried our best to find some way of doing it, but came up emptyhanded. We therefore have come to this board looking for help, which as I recall, is the point of a forum.

Ya know, that megagames method does work. I don't know why that isn't enough for you. I went through the process of patching my 5th mix, I never could get it to work (in the only working copy I made, none of the other menu options would work right. In hindsight, I don't think anyone's been able to make the other options work. I don't really know why.) While I was wasting CD-R's trying different methods, my PS2 stopped reading CD-R's normally. Only when I adjusted the white cog inside would it read CD-R's, and in that position it wouldn't read DVD's, so I gave up and bought a modded PS1.

If you think I'm withholding information, you are
1. wrong: the best method I figured out still didn't work
2. not trying hard enough. There are tons of programs for ripping and burning .iso's, .bin's, etc. I believe the patching program I used was on that megagames site, and maybe there was another one I downloaded elsewhere.

It did take me a while to figure out how to patch, but I'm not going to take the time to dig out all those programs and help you. Sorry. Call that 'withholding information', but I'm still not.

OK, I've been reading the forums for advice, and I've posted in the Console threads, too.

However, this is a question for the importers:

I have Party Collection, 6th, 7th and Extreme (all burned) and I use Swap Magics 3.0, which have worked perfectly. The question is about Party Collection: Is it because I'm importing or does the training mode freeze up every time otherwise?

I've seen where some folks were saying in that thread that game does it on both burned and real copies using Swap Magics but I wanted to get an opinion from some other importers on what maybe the problem.

Thank you, that's all I wanted to know.

I'm about to get a used Playstation so I can play my copy of DDR 5th Mix. I was wondering if a gameshark will make the game work or do I need a so kind boot disk? If a gameshark does work do I need anti-mod codes?

Thanks

A basic gameshark wont do you. Your best bet is to get a Game Enhancer, or one of its many clones(Gold Finger, Action Replay, Power Replay).

http://store.yahoo.com/funvalue/gameenhancer.html

11.99 is a great price. biggrin.gif Also, if the original game will not boot, click here to download the antimid protection path for it. Hit me up on AIM(YCat Says), and I'll walk you through the process if you have trouble. Also, make sure you PSX has the I/O port in the back of it. If it dosent, you'll need to invest in a PS-X-Change 2, which you can find out more about in the modchip thread in this forum.

Hey there! I'm going to get the Game Enhancer so that I can use JP DDR mixes for the Playstation. But I'm curious where I can legally get them. I've seen, for instance, 5th Mix on ebay going for upwards of $60! There has to be some place with a better price! Any help appreciated...

'fraid not - That's common pricing. They're harder to find since they're out of print.

Best place to find it is to watch Marketplace both here and at Bemanistyle, and jump on someone's "Getting rid of my Bemani" sale.

Will let you enter _every_ _single_ _mode_ on 5th mix. The patch at megagames wont let you enter the other modes, just game and Diet modes.
Buy a bootdisc and your problem is solved. The bootdisc I use is "Game Player v2", on my PS1. In it, has easy installation instructions for both the ps1 and psx. PSX-Changer is an easy "mirror" of this. PM me if you need help..

Thanks, though. Those are gameshark codes: is there some way to make a patch out of those or are you just confused?
Patch = way to change the CD image and burn a copy without anti-mod protection (or game trainers, or NTSC-PAL conversions etc)

String of numbers = gameshark codes, correct?

Added new antimod codes to 4th and 5th Mix. Thanks to Methodious for correcting my mistake.

I'm having trouble with my Game Hunter. I can't get my DDR 5th Mix to work. Do I put the anti-mod codes on the master code part or on new code?

Thanks

I haven't read the entire thread, but could we conceivably get reviews of DDRMAX and DDRMAX2 in the same format as the OP? Also maybe of DDR Ultramix...
