Well by the standard of some of these DDR players who play nothing but bemani because they believe it is the original... why would they then go play different branded RPGs or fighting games? I mean wouldn't you break down in disgust in front of a Tekken machine saying it is a clone of Virtua Fighter? Or claim Final Fantasy is the god of RPGs and never play a PC RPG? Or Claim Dungeons and Dragons is the best RPG ever because it was the original (or some bs like that)
Do you only eat at one resturaunt because you believe it to be the original?
I'm curious about these single minded people...lol |

But you have to get used to the odd song list, much different than DDR. _________________

it's not susposed to be DDR... they came out around the same time and are considerably different... and there are plenty of songs with what you saw on it - triples... in fact there are a few where you have to hit all 5 (quints)... for these you just drop down and hit one with your hand, the other two with your feet, or if your wearing the right shoes you can hit two panels with one foot and the other with the other foot... for as to how to hit all 5 :
Upleft - foot
Downleft - hand
Upright - hand
Downright - tip of shoe
Center - Knee
works for me
there are also quads, where you hit 4 panels.
There is another way to hit triples, if your really fast you can hit two panels and quickly switch to the last one that you didn't hit... it works if your fast...
and to that guy that said the music is odd, I don't think it's odd... maybe you only play the American crap on DDR but I play all sorts of music on the machines... I just happen to hate a lot of the English stuff.. lol |

Upleft - foot
Downleft - foot
Centre - foot
Upright - foot
Downright - foot
Works for me

I'm sure if it was sold for profit, Konami would clamp down on it (I'm sure it's a matter of time before they clamp down on ITG).[/quote]

By regular artists :
Oops! I did it again (also on DDR... and also as sucky on Pump)
Bye Bye Bye
I need to Know
Let's get loud
Mambo No.5
Take on me
Let's Get the Party Started
I don't know of any others that aren't Banya... (Banya are unknown artists well most of them) some of the Korean songs are English/Korean... half of the song is in English and the other Korean... lol
and it's impossible to hit all 5 with your feet at the same time... unless your cheating by having another person play with you... lol |

*sigh* Come on now, here's the PROPER way to do a quint:
Left Foot: Down-Left
Right Foot: Up-Right
Left Knee: Center
Left Hand: Up-Left
Right Hand: Down-Right
Visualize doing each of those in order. Can also be flipped left-right with the same idea. |

BY any chance, would anyone know which two mixes Circuit Circus in Edmonton (West Edmonton Mall, Phase 3 Food Court) has?
Getting back on topic, I can pass a good deal of the songs on DDR (7th mix or 8th, only got a dead 7th mix locally) and am comfortable with 8-9 footers on heavy... 7-8 footers heavy doubles...
What would you guys suggest for starting out in PIU? Next time I'm up in etown I'd love to give PIU a try, looks like a lot of fun.... _________________

If you're good at 8-9 footers, stick with Hard mode until you're comfortable. Then move up to Crazy. As far as Double modes go on the newer mixes, here's the hierarchy:
Half-Double: middle 6 panels only, difficulty ranges from fairly easy (lower-level Hard) to pretty damn tough (upper level Crazy)
Freestyle: all 10 panels, wider range of difficulty
Nightmare: absolutely ****ing insane. The easiest songs on this mode give a lot of the tougher Crazies a run for their money.
As far as music goes, almost anything by Novasonic is a winner. Most instrumental and Korean stuff by the Banya group is damn nice too, though I'm not a fan of their English work. |

Thanks for the info... Hope is I don't look like too much of a fool next time I'm up there (two hour drive), but hey, we'll see. The one thing that really gets my attention about PIU (besides LOOKING a lot harder - therefore more than likely being harder. ) is the fact there's never any lines, as opposed to Circuit Circus' DDR Extreme machine (4 songs, $1) which always has an hour long line-up... That and a friend of mine keeps talking about it....
Another question I've got is this... Are there any console releases for PIU, or just PC releases with not that many songs? _________________
