I'm a little unclear on what battle mode from 4th Plus is. If anyone knows, please tell me.

E19.gif Yeah, I've heard about battle mode. I'm not exactly sure of what it is either, but it was described to me as two players playing and steps go up on each side at different times so you're not dancing at the same time....

but um... that's about all I know lol... so I guess I'm no help :-)

I'm just going on StepMania battle mode here, but as far as I know, when one player does really well, and starts racking up combos, the other player will have mods added to their steps.

Battle mode is on konamix. There are arrows that come up from the middle of the screen, then they split. Player 1 gets one set of the arrows, and player 2 gets theirs.

I've played battle on Konomix and this is what it is:
To start there is one of these left.gif up.gif down.gif right.gif . That one splits into two. The arrows come down the middle and split to match the two left.gif up.gif down.gif right.gif. I know this sounds confusing and I wouldn't even get it if I didn't know what it was... I tried my best though.

Ok heres the deal on battle mode. If you have 2 people playing you will see a little extra mode on the bottom called... Battle (duh!)

What happens is the arrows are equally divided up. First the left side would do its thing then the Right side would do the same thing. While one side is playing usually the other side would have a simple right right right over and over. There are green arrows as well. These arrows may be a little different (Most of the time only a few notes are mirrorized but thats about it) It's really fun my friend and I play it all the time.

I believe the accepted spellings are
roXorZ or r0x0rZ (the Z's can be upper or lower).

Though honestly... I don't think most 11-year old script kiddie's are literate enough to know the difference anyway.

I thought the battle mode in Konamix has all three difficulty levels of steps. You can identify them by the colors whether they are basic, trick, or maniac steps for the song. The bar shows the 4 arrows: left.gif up.gif down.gif right.gif and they split into two sets of 4 arrows, like a versus game.

Edit: Sorry, I meant Konamix. Thank you Cowman for pointing that out to me. E1.gif

There is no battle mod in extreme... and because of that you can't play Basic, Trick, or Maniac... because it wasn't there in the first place. Yes it does start out as one set of arrows and splits BUT you can't pick Maniac, Trick, or Basic... It's just one setting fool. I know this stuff. laugh.gif

The 3 colors in Battle Mode were Blue, Red, and Green.
Basically all the blue arrows went to one player and the reds went to the other, while the green arrows were the same for both sides. Yes they did rise from the middle and yes both sides had an equal number of steps. For example if one side had a 5 measure run of eighth notes and the other side just basically kept a beat then shortly therafter the player with the eighth note run would keep the beat while the other had to do the same eighth note run just in a different part of the song. Hope this helps.

Well said!!!

I really wish I would have been good enough to play unison mode back in third mix. But the good thing is that I still know where a third mix machine is. I could go and play it now.

But who the hell cares about battle mode. I think it's a waste of time anyway. It's all about unison mode!!! Now that is was a complex mode to play.
