Hey... if the parents want to see their 3 year old child play, I dont see why not, everyone should have a fair chance after all.
(As long as they dont destroy the pads im fine...) |

HA! I'm getting better! Still 13 though. I love it when I see some people my age get up on the machine and succesfully pass a standard song. It tells me that DDR isn't dead yet. I am often revered as the youngest, "good", DDR Player at my arcade, but if the youngins I'm seeing today get interested and actually practice, I'll finally have competition that aren't 15 to 17 year olds. LOL, I am so concieted... |

its not the fact that the kid was 3, its the fact that it was a waste of my time. there was a line of like 10 ppl there and every1 had to watch as this kid started crying while colors on beginner mode was scrolling on the screen, and all the parents did was laugh and dance on the other mat. _________________

So your calling all of us that are 25 and older Old Cronies?
I say as long as you can keep up with the song, regardless of your age, your good to go. |

Would I get impatient under those circumstances? Sure... but their quarters are worth just as much as anybody else's, so as long as they've waited their turn, they're entitled to some machine time. |

I'm 36.
I like the game. Tell me I'm too old, and I'll just look at you like you're a clueless kid. Now none of you would do that, Im sure. ;-) |

And I thought I was too old to play DDR! I still can't believe it's been 5 years since I started playing DDR back in April 1999 in Koreatown. It's been 26 years since I started playing arcade video games with the introduction of Space Invaders. Is that a trip or what? Please reply, over! Thanks!

I believe they are passing a law that you can't play DDR if you are over 25 years of age. Sorry guys.
</sarcasm>
If you have legs, you can play. For that matter, you only need one (as proven by the awe-inspiring one-legged player) . _________________

well, I've been mistaken. 13 year olds just like to point, pretend to to hip-hop on the pad and call the game gay. WTF? Why am I not the same way? I took a survey and it said that my brain matured faster than normal. Does that mean that it's not really an age limit, but in fact how smart you are?

Well, let me say that I have already responded to this thread...11 months ago.
Now, there is no age limit. However, there is a certian degree of open-mindedness required to enjoy the game. In order to have open-mindedness one typically needs to be a more educated or experienced individual, hence it is not uncommon for an older individual to play the arrow-smashing game. _________________

HAIL Illpalazzo!!! Yeah you're right about that... (And that I basically responded to this topic long time ago too.. x.x; ) But yeah it's not the matter of age but the level of maturity (sp?) on who plays it.
Excel: Excel ahs never seen such an evil device used to brainwash all the people into liking annoying, loud techno music and turns them into anime lovers for the wrong reason, while making them short of breath and alomst kill them selves trying to hit tiny arrows rolling up on the screen!!!
Hyatt: I don't know Senior, it seems pretty harmless to me. (Dribble of blood from mouth to chin.)
*Excel puts in tiny tokens with Illpalazzo's face on them into the machine, and chooses heavy, Max300*
Excel: WHAAA!! SO FAST! MUST KEEP UP MUST BEAT LEVEL!!! oooo shiny lights and graphics...techno....
*The two girls now stare at the screen, Excel's eyes swirling while Hyatt's foaming blood at the mouth.... Real DDR Players come by*
Guy1: Dude? Are those cosplayers?
Guy2: Seems like it...must be they're first time...
Guy1: Yeah I remember my first time...
*Change scene*
Illpalazzo: Damnit I will beat this game, stupid arrows!!!
(The FAILED sign appears on his own screen, which seems like it's laughing at him.)
Illpalazzo: Oh yeah?
(He shoots the screen)
Illpalazzo: Hmph, I was better at the dating sim anyway... _________________

Its just a defense mechanism. Macho, self-doubting insecure boys are not able to jump on the machine without looking like a fool (honestly: everyone looks like a fool when they start out. ), so rather than joke about it, they get defensive and project their fears upon the machine in a way that reflects their own homoerotic fantasies (which is normal for anyone of that age).
They'll grow out of it. |
