What does DDR mean to you? Do you think it's a way of expressing their individual freedom? A way of forging character through risky accomplishments? A form of rebellion? Or just a game? And if it's just a game, why do some people dedicate SO much of their time to it? |

I know that when I first played, it was just a game. But when I started getting into the game formally [when I got MAX2 finally], it became a regular way of exercise and whatnot. I feel great when I play, but it's not a form of rebellion for me [why would it be??] and I think it's just that the lifestyle appeals to me so much.
I guess I have it all in my head, but can't explain it online. The only way to explain is to show you ... _________________

I love video games, and this one is actually good for you. And while other games take talent, this one requires skills and talent that other people will actually envy rather than criticize. Plus you get to dance in public, so that's a plus. _________________

To me DDR is a video game as well as a regular excersize. Its different in that anyone with an ungodly skill at it will actually be considered cool as opposed to a gamer geek. I say I'm both |

When i began to play, i thought it was just a game, that is fun to play every once in a while. Now a days, i'm the second best ddr player in my town, and DDR is my life. I try and play whenever i can (PSM=super fun and hard) and can't imagine where i'd be without ddr. Thats a good thought.
Try and think of what your life would be like, and what you'd be doing if there was no ddr. |

I see ddr as a physical challenge!!! I've always played sports and run and It just one more physical challenge to add to the list. But over time ddr as become a lifestyle for me. I find it hard to imagine how less enriched my life would be without DDR. Go fig. I met so many friends; been to so many places. I absolutely love what the fact that I started playing this game. Also, you don't dance when you play DDR. I thought I just add that in.

Well, that's wonderful compared to some people who live it.
Don't look at me, it's only a minor obsession. |

To me it's a game and an alternative to the boring and tedious treadmill.
As for the part about "If it's just a game, why do so many people dedicate so much time to it?" part, people dedicate loads of time to many different types and styles of games. Some play Quake3, some play Final Fantasy, Some play FLight Simulator, some play DDR. It's all a matter of choice and willingness. _________________
