I am amazed I finally passed PSMO and now I feel empty drool.gif . Is there anything really to strive for as far ad difficulty goes, because now I want to improve on my ratio of perfects/greats. Now I get like 20 percent greats on songs and 79 percent perfect, the remainder miss or cool. Any suggestions?

I've found playing songs like Holic and Sana Mor Isette (sic) on 1.5x greatly improve reading ability. Once you can mack those song most others are a breeze. If your in the 9-10 club, start out with xenon, rhythm and police, bag, and sakura. They will get you ready for Lom, MaxX UL, and extra stages. I'm still working on those...

on break down heavy i went from a d to an a in one afternoon, after i studied the step chart a bit...like when i tried the song a few times and realized where i was doing poorly at, hope that helps ya

Apologies in advance if this is an improper place to post this question.

I have unlocked all tunes on DDRMax2 [PS2], but can't find out how to unlock Endless Mode and make it appear as an option.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

TIA.

molson:
1. is it possible that you have unlocked it but didn't know where to find it? to get it, go to the place where you select your difficulty and keep on going past heavy. oni/nonstop challenge/endless should be there.
2. to get the most amount of replies you should make a new topic in the forum called 'DDR Console Games'.

You are all confusing me here. Is trick and mainiac and calas (catas whatever) a mode like Light, Standerd and Heavy? I have a DDR Pad at my house.

I started playing like 2 weeks ago. I can pass most songs on light, and half on standered. The only song I can pass on hard is Love This Feeling by Chang Ma. I have trouble with not stomping on certain arrow keys. So I am trying to fix that. I can almost pass Max 300 on light now.

Basic, Trick and Maniac were the difficulty names given to songs before MAX. They are the same as light standard and heavy respectively. and a cata is short for catastrophic which is a 9 foot songand a pie is a ten foot song (stupid name huh?)

What I do for those combinations is kinda like hop... here's an example.

for L,U,R,D, what I do is push left with my left, up right, then as soon as I hit the up, I kinda hop over to right, and land with my right foot, and push down with my left. I sounds complicated, but it works very well for me. Plus it looks funny E4.gif . But I have never had a problem with it, and it always works. It just might take some time for you to get it.

Dynamite2U-- Since somone already explained Afronova expert to you, I'll try to explain Dynamite Rave Cata to you... Okay, in the beginning, it is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT that you follow the music. Every single note that the music plays, you have to hit at that moment, it just depends on the arrow(s) that you have to hit.

Then, it moves on to the eighth notes mixed in with the sixteenths. This part can be tricky. It follows the same pattern for a while, just with different notes. BUT WATCH OUT for one of the sixteenth notes combination. There is one (2nd or 3rd sixteenth note combo), and you go from a L+R (jump) to L to R, all in sixteenth notes. This can be very difficult. What I recommend for this, is jump, and IMMEDIATELY lift up your left foot JUST ENOUGH to get off and then press down immediately. With some practice, you should get it, but it's hard to full combo the song if you don't take care of this little annoyance. Then it goes to a bunch of eighth notes, not too hard to deal with, just keep your balance and remember to follow the rhythm, especially the ladies voice, as the arrows usually follow the voices. Then it goes back to sixteenths mixed with eighths, not too much to worry about if you already got the beginning part nailed. And at the VERY end, you need to kinda like gallop up and down, and then do two more jumps. Overall, a fairly difficult cata, but with some practice, it isn't too hard.

What I really recommend you do, is if you have the home version, slow it down to speed 1 or 2 if 1 is too slow. This is what I did, and after about 5 hours of practicing, using the judge (very useful-- USE IT!), and Assist, I have pretty much mastered the song and I can get an A consistently, while nearly making it a full-combo. If you don't have home version, just download DWI. It works pretty good, but to me, not as good practice as a home pad with the game.

Usually, I hit the buttons with the balls of my feet, which is kind of like the half of your sole that is closer to your feet. I dont' really like using my toes or heels, they are too complicated to me, since my natural habit is to use the balls of my feet.

Hmm, what are some tips......? ALWAYS STAY WITH THE MUSIC. Try to get REALLY into the music, it helps me tons, for gettin those AA or AAAs. Like, I love Let's Groove Heavy on MAX or MAX2. I ALWAYS get an A minimum, and about 40% AA. Why so good? Because I GET REALLY INTO THE SONG. It has a really good beat, and I follow it.

Anybody know some good way to improve skills at the arcade? I don't (read: not allowed) to own DDR at home, so I have to practice at the arcade. I have some good experience in front of crowds, so I don't really get nervous, even in front of the real good guys (most of them are from school, and they're all cool).
Anyways, I'm going to my local arcade today, and I want to practice improving. (They have a bootleg "DDR Megamix", mind you, but their pad is the best conditioned one I've EVER seen. Megamix is basically a DDR Extreme, subtract the unlocked songs, but I've heard rumours there IS a way to unlock them.) Yesterday, I went to the movies, and they had DDREx there. I played with some girl (she was basic-trick). Anyways, I let her choose all three songs. They were: PARANOiA Evolution (She went Light, I went ulp, HEAVY drool.gif . I really should've chose standard.), Healing Vision (AM) (she chose Light, I chose Light Shuffle Boost Hidden x1.5 and did my best "hand stomping" impression I could), and Burnin' the Floor (she chose standard, I chose Standard x1.5 sudden).
Here are my scores:
PARANOiA Evolution: She got a C, I got an E (Hey, that IS a 10-footer, I think) disturb.gif
HVAM: She C'd it, I B'd it biggrin.gif
Burnin the Floor: She D'd it, I C'd it.

Yeah, that Heavy Evolution was a mistake. Ulp.

So, I'm going today and I REALLY want to get back into heavy mode. I haven't played since January, and I just want to get back to my old self again, so to speak. Any ideas? What are some good warm up songs??
Thank you. E4.gif

There are plenty of 9's easier than Breakdown... eg My Summer Love, Frozen Ray, I Feel, Kakumei...

Hi. I recently increased my stamina to AAing burning heat, ps, max300, maxx unlimited, and A'ing lom extra stage with no breaks and no bar. I never breathe hard and my legs never lock up or feel like they can't move. How did I do it? My feet don't move that much like JSB, and I just let my feet flow. Most people concentrate soo hard on moving around on 10 footers that their legs lock up and they get tired. So don't try to hard on fast patterns with purple steps like V oni . Your legs shouldn't feel all vibrating and stuff. They should feel like if it was a simple 1/4th and 1/8th pattern like freckles while playing 10's. As for people saying increase your stamina by running and exercise it is all bull in my opinion. Back in 7th mix, I was on a cross country team and I ran at least 5 miles every other day. When I played ddr I thought my stamina would have increased from all the running I did, well it didnt. I could not pass the maxes back then with a good grade and with out my legs locking up. Now after having not running for a year, and only playing DDR once a week I have forever solved my stamina problem by playing like JSB by barely moving my feet, not by exercising and running. I don't get tired but I still sweat a little bit but no where near as much as I used to sweat. What is my point here. My point is that everyone who can at least pass 10's can have the stamina to pass them without getting tired if you don't move your feet too high and don't force yourself to move around. I suggest watching the JSB vs Reflex LoM video here http://www.ddrfreak.com/phpBB2/posting.php?mode=reply&t=17507. I hope this helps someone improve their stamina and ddr skills.

Does anyone besides me NOT like doing the harder songs? I can pull off 9 footers with a bit of practice, but I far prefer going back to 6 footers and upping the speed a bit. Why? Playing 8's and 9's makes me move so fast it seems like I'm having a fit. I see people beat level 10's and they just look foolish. It's far more fun and satisfying to go for high marks on 6 footers, and look classy while doing it.
Anyone agree?
