I'm new to this board so this is my first post, not quite sure where this problem might be discussed directly so I'm just gonna post it here. The games in question here are both DDRMAX and DDRMAX2 for the PS2. It first happened about a week ago on DDRMAX2 . I had all A's on beginners mode and all A's and B's on light mode for the most part. Then all of a sudden I turn my game on and get a message to the extent of something like this "System data is corrupted, create new file?" Dunno if that is the exact words but nonetheless the damn thing makes you create a new file by answering yes and you lose the old one..I am pretty pissed off all my accomplishments got wiped off the game completely..but that isn't the worst part of it. I say screw this game for a while and so i start working on DDRMAX and just today the damn thing wiped out all my records with the same exact message of corrupted data. Anyone have this problem and know how the heck to get rid of this crap? For the record, I am not using any cheat device and have not had any previous problems with my memory card until this. Please help!

Thanks in advance

SB

You can't recover your old data. Don't turn off the system while it's still saving. You might also have a crappy memory card, in which case get a new one.

Yeah I know that I can't recover the old data. I never shut the game down while it was saving. Looks like it could be the memory card but I've never had a problem with it before, I wonder why just with these DDR games it could have problems with, I'm currently playing FFX2 and Wild Arms 3, and even have a file on madden 04 with this same memory card and have not ever gotten no corrupted data files.

This thread belongs in Console Games. I'm sure if you dig around this exact same one is a dime a dozen in there...

When I used to play the US versions, it happened to me a lot with US Max. Make sure it's all the way back to the main menu before turning the game off. Turning the game off during saving is one way the data corrupts.
