|
|
After a week with my Pop'n ASC from www.desktoparcade.com I have a few things to say about this controller.
I have never played Pop'n much aside from whenever my friend brought over his Konami ASC and we messed around. So I am really happy to finally be an owner of an ASC-like controller.
The controller is pretty sturdy (I've dropped it down from 4 feet in the air due to my own clumsiness, as well as stood on it, I weigh about 170lbs), and feels wonderful. The buttons are of course domed and ASC-exact in terms of measurement (my friend with his ASC inverted his on top of mine and the buttons matched up exactly, dome to dome). The buttons themselves are very responsive and do not stick (but do make that fine loud noise a Pop'n controller makes).
The controller fits on a 2x2 ikea table balanced neatly, and is rock solid through constant playing. It only costs $200 and I really recommend this controller to anyone who needs a Pop'n controller on a budget.
Here's a video of me playing Honey, Do It Tonight! on a test model before buying my own. Mine is not painted that way, and he'll paint yours to order.
I do website work for Desktop Arcade and am friends with the owner, so if you're going to cite bias, that's where you can. _________________

Hm, do you live anywhere in or near New England?
I'm curious to compare my Ransai to a DA, which appears to be no different at $50 less. _________________

Are you going to Anime Boston? I'll be there, apparently a few people want to bring up Ransais to check it out against mine, so to that I say "Bring it on" ^-^. My controllers will also be stocked and demo'ed at TGA soon.
PS- we live in northern NJ. _________________

I'll just check it out at TGA then. So Andy's switched from Ransai to DA, eh? lol at 50 less I prolly would too if there were a choice at the time _________________

I also gave Andy the best price I could on them, because I really appreciate what he's doing both for me and the players in your area.
