id be like 20 bucks plus the cost of parts.
so if you spent 180 doing the pad, wiht the control box, then you could probably sell it for 200 _________________

game3eak - are you trying to solder to some black material over the contacts? Solder won't stick to that. You have to scratch it away or find some exposed copper somewhere along the lines of the circuit board to solder to. |

DDRHomePad's design won't take lights. There's no room, and anyways, the light wouldn't shine through the piece of solid sheet metal. |

So...after reading, I am still undecided. Should I get latex/vinyl tubing or foam weather stripping? I want one that is very spring it, so it pops up really fast but it is easy to push down. Thanx. _________________

Funny how I was just about to comment on a certain type of weatherstripping. I'm using Super-R weatherstripping by Manco. You can buy it at Wal-mart. This stuff is more like rubber than foam, which is what you'd want. It also has a hollow center so it is a little compressable, and it also has a riged top so that it won't get stuck to the plastic by suction. So far, it works nicely and won't wear out quickly. This is a great weatherstripping if you use a switch design similar to mine (check my sig). |

I wouldn't order led's from radio shack. Look on a place like digikey.com to buy leds. |

but radioshack sucks... its like the pit-hole at the bottom of the pit-hole (not trying to offend to anyone here who works at radioshack and stands by the store) most likely, the LEDS you get there will cost more, do not quite what you want, and be non-returnable. if you really insist on shopping there though, you want something in the 1000's of mcd (milli-candella), something with a decent viewing angle (so you don't get just point sources), and you have to consider how you are setting it up, what are you using for your external power supply? _________________

a good LED site is www.lsdiodes.com
and, there is no guide for LED lights right now. Either you use incandescents or you electrical-engineer it yourself. |
