To everyone having problems with ps2covers.com: Don't forget that ps2covers.com uses a third party credit card authorization center (http://www.mypaysystems.com). This means you can request a refund through said cc auth center instead of trying to get in touch with ps2covers.com reps. I've already requested my refund and intend to use chipzone.com.
Evo: Funny thing is...previous research pointed towards ps2covers.com as the place to buy these things. Heh.

Hmm....it looks like my order has been shipped today. Has anyone else's order been shipped or am I getting special treatment because I started the "refund money" process? |

We'll see...if that's the case then those who are still waiting on their orders can threaten to get a refund and maybe expedite their shipment.

I'm thinking of importing games especially DDRMAX, DDRMAX2, DDREXTREME. I want a JPN PS2 and not to mod a PS2 because fear of breaking it. though i will get mod chip if they sell modded PS2 in the internet.
FOR JPN PS2:
How can I fix the Volt difference of US and Japan?
Give me the whole name of the product?
Where did you buy it?
was it worthied?
where can I find a cheap JPN PS2?
^same question but DDR EXTREME? _________________

Woo Hoo -- got the "shipped" email from ps2cover. They did email me back when I inquired about the delay, saying something about holding orders until they got enough SM 3.0s in or something. (I just sent a polite inquiry, not a threat to stop payment or anything, since the other half of my order (breaker pro) shipped *faster* than expected, since I'd chosen the slow shipping option, and it was there in a few days.) Soon my copy of Extreme will be something other than a paperweight!
And now a question: The usual suspects don't seem to have copies of 4th Mix, and that's the next import I want. Anyone know a reliable place to look for it? (Cheaper is better, and used is fine, but reliable >> cheaper. Would prefer not to deal with Ebay, though I will look there.) I've checked via Froogle, but didn't find any stores that I recognized, and many of the websites looked like a monkey had written them, so I'd need a recommendation before I'd give them a credit card number. I don't want a burnt copy. |

I just got the shipped email too...they didn't respond to my email (hey, it was pretty polite too, hehe), but at least my stuff shipped.
Toys 'n Joys have used copies of 4th mix for a really high price. The PS1 mixes of JP DDR games are hard to find because they don't make them anymore...if you want a cheaper version, your best bet is probably eBay. _________________

My ps2cover stuff was sent through Hong-Kong Post, then Canadian customs gave it to UPS, which then gave it to me. _________________

I just noticed that there's rattling coming from my PS2 disc tray because of the mod, anyone else having or had this problem??? cause I know it's not the fact that the screws are tied down, cause I will probably bust thru the PS2 if I tighten the screws on the PS2 any tighter.
Also, if I even barley touch the disc tray (after it's closed and running ) it's stops.
any ideas? _________________

My shipment was given to customs yesterday. We'll see how long it takes. At least we know they're coming through after their various delays. Still, it makes more sense to purchase from other stores out there that can deliver it within a week's time or less. |

Okay: I got my fliptop, installed it (goodness was that *not* as easy as it sounds, since getting the reset/eject ribbon cable to stay out of the way was difficult) and can play my import Extreme as well as all my US ps2 games. But: is there any way to be able to eject the drive normally when playing non-import games, or am I stuck flipping the top every time I change disks? I ask mostly because my ps2 normally sits somewhere where I can't easily open the fliptop, and I'd really like to be able to use it normally when I'm not playing imports.
[Edit: Fixed it. Seems some of the tape I used to secure the reset/eject cable was also securing the tray. I just couldn't find any documentation on whether or not eject was supposed to work with a fliptop. Thanks, guys. It's all good, except for the fact that I strained a hamstring in my enthusiasm to play Extreme. Ow.]
And a question, if anyone sees this: is the Extreme timing window any different than MAX1US or MAX2US? I went from getting around 20-50% greats/noncombos in songs that I could full-combo or get close to getting a lot of AAs on Extreme, with a few light/standard SDGs on songs with ~200 steps, which is a first for me. And this was with the same pads, same PS2, and I was *sight reading* a lot of these, since I was mostly playing new songs. Maybe it was just the effect of playing NonStop for a while and the Marvelouses helped.
