Hey Woody, where did you get those pads, ive looked all over the internet for them because i need some good pads for long hours of play. Could you tell me where you got them from, and how much they cost? I'm considering one of those DX pads or 2 red octane 2.0's from cyphergames. |

Myself, I'd call them pathetic, to be honest.... (warning, incoming rant)
What did $90 (well actually $120, but BNS STILL HASN'T GOTTEN ME KONAMIX AND THOSE ADAPTERS!!!) get me? Well, two pads that are already ghosting (down arrow mainly) AND mis-stepping (specifically it double steps on the right arrow, as well for some weird reasons it'll hold the down arrow every now and then... Sometimes it won't let you press up/down combos... These problems have been confirmed by two other players... Both who are way better than me...)
I'll save the rant about poor customer service (I've had to call four times, and I get to call again tomorrow - all in regards to half my order not showing up - and getting different stories each time) for another day, or possibly my LJ... Oh, if you ever have to call them... Expect to be on hold... For a LONG time. And expect poor response times... Average a week while I was talking to them... RO is.... 18 hours tops, for email responses (but their 1-800 is almost always busy)...
What ticks me off? I've gotten about... 45 minutes of play out of one pad (the one with the most serious problems, but my primary pad is acting up just as much now), and 20 hours out of the main one I use... Such I'd expect out of a $20 CAD Mad Catz Beat pad, not a $45-50 USD pad...
Supposively, BNS is sending me a new cover for the one pad, but they're not in for another two weeks, minimum... Which means I'm down to one pad (or even none, if these problems persist with both pads) until the new cover shows up... *sighs*
As well, here's what really gets me... I ordered on Jan... 22, 2004. I received them on Feb 9, 2004 (sans Konamix and the adapters). It's Mar 1, 2004 now... 21 days after I received them... This is pathetic, to be honest... Two pads that aren't working properly after an hour to twenty hours, combined with the fact I still haven't received half my order.... That should be in any day now....
Anyways, long story short.... I'm not dealing with BNS again. If you're going to say something's in the package (my shipping manifest SAID there were two pads, DDR Konamix, and two adapters... Only found two pads), it sure as hell better be in there... _________________

BNS is actually their house brand name, I think (_B_uy _N_ _S_hop), though I hear that the same basic pad is sold by others - some even with the BNS branding.

I know the solution. If you buy a new 3rd party pad for cheap and do the plywood mod it will work just like the ones in the arcade. you can slide well on it, and it lasts longer. the mod website is http://www.ddrfreak.com/library/faqs-modding.php
thats it |

I guarantee someone's said this before, but...
NEVER get a soft pad without foam.
They rip, the sensors screw up, they slide all over the damn place (even the nonslips), and they just overall suck.
Also, don't buy "dense foam" pads. They tend to register late and be of overall lower quality. Buy "hard foam" pads.
There are two differences between the densities.
1. Hard foam is four times the weight.
2. Hard foam comes in 3 pieces, while dense foam comes in 6. This is for when they don't tell you whether it's hard or dense but give you a pic of the foam.
I've said my line. Cya. |

My Mymybox Ignition had dense foam, and it's never missteped for a whole year. Are you sure about "lower quality" when this thing's outlasted people's BNS and RedOctane pads? _________________

Can someone tell me which foam pads will work with Konamix? Will the X and O buttons work as diagonal arrows? |

I just figured out a way to help decrease down arrow stickyness on BNS V2 foam pads...i think ^-^;
I got mine two weeks ago and both of 'em started messin' up, esp. down arrow and doubles.
Anyway, I took the foam out of it and played today, and it worked fine! I guess just put some duct tape under the arrow sensors for a lil more padding and they will work fine...or at least I hpe so...
Hope this helps!

I bought one of those and the back arrow began to ghost within a month. But if you're new to DDR, this would be one of the best soft pads u can get without foam.
My friend had one of these and when it broke he was sent a new one from the dealer in like a week.
If u want to use ebay to buy pads I think u should get their ignition pads that r really cheap. |

Whatever you do, don't get the superstar pad. It's the worst I've ever seen. That's probably why they sell it for $20 at Wal-Mart. _________________

I have a problem with my left arrow. It works when i'm picking a song from the list but when i want to play a song it doesn't work. I think maybe it's because i fold it up and put it back in the box from which it came. I read here that folding it can damage the pad. I need some tips on how to cut it open and and fix my problem. Can anyone help me!? |
