I knew that it was based on a cop show for a long time now. The original was by Akira M-something-or-other. The original is pretty cool, it's got this creepy ghost screm in it.

The lyrics are: "Rhythm... rhythm... rhythm... and police!" Unless of course you're talking about the trailer. I can't understand that either.

What about Furuhata's Theme? I'm surprised no one has made a comment about this! That's a Japanese show! but it's more like a secret agent/detective show.
But yeah. that's weird. E13.gif

Yeah, I knew about RnP being from an old police drama, but I never heard the original. Now I can die happy.

Just thought I'd mention this: look at the sillouette image on this site's main page. Now look at the original background of RnP in 4th Mix Plus.

...Neat.

That's pretty cool. I'll have to find the slower one to listen to and see which ones I like better.

Wow, cool! That picture is a direct inspiration for the Rhythm and Police background, no doubt. I knew that Rhythm and Police came from a Japanese cop show (Ninzaburo/Furuhata's theme is kinda the same thing, it's from a Japanese detective show about a murder detective named Furuhata Ninzaburo, I believe), but I never knew anything about it. I want to listen to the original, but I'm at school on a computer with no sound card right now. >_<

They're using an old mexican Mariachi song!...I think dats cool thet Japanese ppl actually like mexican Mariachi music as much as to use some of the songs for their shows! laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

the lyrics for rythm and police are as follows:

run now quickly doin' my thing
i'm on the case we like the man for the behavior
what you doin' over there?
c'mon let's do this rip the air

you'll all feel this latest groove and then just won't know what to do
hey bro what you got in your hand?
man that's amazing put it away
it's gonna go bang blow my brain ha!
i'm gonna soak 'em in pain
with the S.D.X.

so...
let's leave a little bit of change
the tramps can fear us
stay boarded up in their special cage
just how far they gonna stay sane?
cut the drugs uh!

Actually, there's a few themesongs from old TV shows in DDR, like Lupin the 3rd '78, and Gotcha (which is the theme to the best show ever, starsky and Hutch)
