That was a big problem for me when I was a SM noob. You have to download "dwi" files. I mean, how is the game going to just autogen steps for random mp3's? If it did that, it would cost money! A really good site to get them is www.ddrponce.net. Although, the site is mainly in Spanish, so you'll have to feel your way to the registration link (you have to register to gbe able to download songs). Although, if you have some time on your hands, you could utilize the program's "Edit/Sync Songs" Feature to your advantage. Here's what you do:
1) Get an existing dwi file
2) Open it in NotePad
3) Delete the song's title and subtitles
4) Put in a favorable BPM
5) Create a folder for the song bearing your desired song's name inside "songs" in the SM Program File
6) Create a PNG file for the song's background and put -bg after the title, but before the .png extension
7) Create another PNG at the menu banner size and save it with the same title as your background, but without "-bg" at the end
8) Put your mp3 into the folder (I suggest you shorten it with ACID first)
9) Open SM
10) Enter "Edit/Sync Songs"
11) Your song should be there, select it and create your steps!

Hope this helps.

Or you could go to www.ddruk.com, register and download packs of every DWI file for every arcade mix.

I'm sure if it was sold for profit, Konami would clamp down on it (I'm sure it's a matter of time before they clamp down on ITG).[/quote]
