My first time was funny. I was at a party, and my friends kept egging me to play. I was in a group with one uber-god-heavy-max-super-king-diety (or as we saw him) and a bunch of lights. I didn't want to embarrass myself by dancing bad, so i thought i would try humor. I stood just off the pad danced off it and when one of my light friends told me to dance with the pad, i picked it up and slow danced with it. Everybody laughed, and i escaped without embarassing me... i guess.... That experience is what got me interested in DDR tho. Miles beyond parappa XD |

Ah yes.. my first time...
I was at the same friend's house that Flarone mentioned. Only, this time, it was just him and me. Started off on light mode (can't remember the songs) and slipped off the pad on the second song. Amazingly, I played through 10 songs on light mode without failing any of them. Got me hooked. |

my first time was at the local mall, and i knew how to play by watching my boyfriend play with his friends while sat there being bored. at that time i hated the game caus that was all he would do when he went to the mall. so after i broke up with the lame dude and got my best guy friend (who is great at the game)to go to the mal with me and i was like u know what, ill show u, u dumb machine and played. i didnt do too bad, but that was caus i had sat there for many days for many hours watching and getting even more mad. now thanks to DDR, i have a cool great, better, boyfriend who will let me join the game instead of sitting there watching. hes my best friend and my lover who will let me be one of the guys. ill shut it now _________________

I was fortunate enough to make a fool of myself in private before becoming decent and playing in public. I remember going to a cousins house and playing DDR USA on their PS. I'm ashamed to admit that I did the whole "jumping around on the pad 'pretending to be cool' routine". I couldn't even pass Have You Never Been Mellow on Light. _________________

My friend had me do Dynamite Rave with him on Light my first time. I think I hit up a few times, that's about it. I even failed Era, Nostalmix my first time! |

I'm not sure exactly which mall I was at, but I was definetely at a mall with my 'teammembers' (Go Chounouryoku!). I remember my first time was with [Chounouryoku] Heilostar; she had already tried it a few times.
Anyway, I started on Beginner, and we played Speed Over Beethoven (which I still love, for the music, but I never go back to those two machines that have it). I found right away that Beginner was way too easy, even for a, well, beginner, and went on to Light, where I was stuck for awhile before I made my way to Standard, where I'm currently working up to Heavy. _________________

When I first startedplaying DDR, I was the epitome of suck buttocks. Most of you say that you suck, but I sucked worse than you ever had. I didn't know what to do when the corner arrows came up! Thankfully, though, i'm about five times better than used to be... And I'm still hoping to get even better! _________________
