Given that there's no more Konami US arcade division, there's about 0 chance of IIDX coming to America. |

It is possible, if enough people were to play IIDX, but DDR's getting too much attention because it's "tHaT DaNcInG gAme!!!! LOL!!!!!1". Too many people think a game that involves only hands hitting corresponding buttons is just plain boring. Also, too many people judge IIDX by 5-key and they don't realise that in comparison to IIDX, 5-key majorly blows. It would be very ironic if IIDX gained the popularity in the states that DDR currently has. _________________

I really doubt it. Reasons:
1. Few arcade versions in the US means that few Americans ever get to experience IIDX.
2. There never WILL be an American version IIDX machine in the US unless their coin-op division is resurrected.
3. Konami cannot endorse the illegal placement of Japanese machines in the US by ever referring to an arcade version.
4. It's hard to introduce a new style of game for home use if it is neither "previewable" (in the arcades, like DDR). Karaoke Revolution, unlike other Bemani, is not a new idea, just a game that plays karaoke.
5. Many Americans would never even consider buying a "novelty controller" like a steering wheel or arcade-style joystick, much less a $100 controller that plays 1 game that they've never played in the arcade.
6. Beatmania (5 key) absolutely flopped in Europe.
This, of course, is far off topic. I predict a lock pretty soon. |
