Hey DDR Freaks =)

I've been playing DDR ever since Summer of 2003. I was playing the "3rd Party" Pad during my "Light" and "Standard" months. When I finally reached Heavy, my DDR Pad kept moving around since it did not have the "Non-Slip" bottom. I hated this, and bought a new DDR Pad called BNS DX-Xtreme Pad [around December].

No problems with the new Pad. I even got AA on most of the songs [around January]. It did not move a lot as the old 3rd Party Brand. Now it is near the end of Febuary. All of a sudden my DDR Pad is not responsive as much when I bought it [heck, even if I KNOW for a fact that I press a "Down", it does not register].

What am I suppose to do? There is no Warranty on this brand and wasted $50 on this pad [that lasted 1.5 months]. I am surprised that my 3rd Party Pad lasted longer than the new "Foam Pad".

What should I do? Can you guys help me make my decision? While browsing around here, people recommend Cobalt Flux. Buying Cobalt Flux would be my ulitmate goal - but it's too EXPENSIVE!! While I am saving up my money for CF, I need a replacement. Should I do the following?

1) Buy the same pad. It's $50.
2) Buy DDR Hard Pad shown in Ebay [$50].
3) Use my old 3rd Party pad and modify it [which way is best to last long?]
4) Buy the Metal Pad shown @ Liksang.com
5) Buy a totally different pad listed above [that is better and lasts long].

Since I do not have a good part time job [babysitting, $20 per day, 3 per month], I am most likely will have the money by summer [just assuming]. I cannot buy Cobalt Flux now [unless I could get it by down-payment =p] because I have at least $150 now.

I do not want to wait until Summer for a new pad + I do not want to use the 3rd Party Pad alone [it hurts my feet since I have a hardwood floor]. Like you, I am a DDR Freak and want to stay that way [heh, my DDR Extreme Import is on the way]. Please help me [btw, sorry it's long, but I typed this before I had to activate the account + I have to wait like 2 hours to post a new topic].

For twice as much as your pad you have now, you can get ONE of the best pads IMO around... Check this out, I highly reccomend it!

try http://www.buynshop.com/productinfo/44/VG-DDR-ULTDX/ for almost the same exact pad, just different label. I got one and it's really good. it's half the price and still has a warantee, I had to replace mine and they had an incredibly fast return time. highly recommended.

disgust.gif That's the same Pad I have [and actually the same place where I bought it]. Was there a warranty on this? If so I've lost the receipt x.x;

But if it's the same as the $100 one, than I guess both would break down evantually.

E15.gif Thank you for your suggestions.

Your best option is to save up and buy a Cobalt Flux me and my friends got them and couldnt be happier

red octanes are metal but do break eventually and i havnt even had a single problem with my cf and even if you do cf will help you out big time if its over 6 months if its under 6 months you just send it back and they fix it 100%

p.s. until then just get maybe a 3rd party and chair mat mod or mount it on wood with felt on the bottom and it wont slide the tiniest bit

It doesn't really matter, eventually all pads will wear down. I somehow broke a wire inside my RO Metal Pad, so through some trial and error I fixed it. Besides the control box I could probably fix anything that could ever go wrong with my pad now.

Teach a man to buy a new DDR pad, and he'll dance for a month. Teach him how to repair it and he will dance forever.

LoL - I was about to use the "Insert Pad" from my ol BNS Pad, and tape my 3rd Party pad on top of that. Maybe that might work.. hehe

But those who experiences break downs on BNS Pad, is there anyway to fix the senors?? If so, please teach me =)

I used the search function and eventually I found enough info to do a lot of trail n' error until the pad worked in full again. Can be time consuming...at first
