got wood?

I don't know if anyone else did this so I'll post it anyway...

I own the PS2 dance pads with one inch thick foam inside the plastic zipper case. My room is very carpeted. This proved to be a problem, but not one without a solution. I used plywood and cut out the shape of the foam. After inserting the plywood underneath the foam and zipping the pad back up, it worked wonderfully even on very thick carpet. It's a very cheap alternative to the metal pads but unfortunately still will not work with shoes...

Sadly if you keep that foam in there the inside of your pads are going to tear. I have the wood in my ignition pad without any form of foam. My ignition is not a Red Octane or any other expensive one. I paid $45 for mine and got two instead of one. I've been using that pad for 6 months and only now is it beginning to die.

Did you sand down the wood so it wasn't all pointy?

I actually got it from a friend of mine. It doesn't seem to be pointy at all so I'd suppose so. He took the foam inserts to Home Depot and had them cut it out to the right size from there.
