I think the major problem here is that you're using characters that people have already made pre-existing images of. There is really no indication that Rage or Akira are gay. In fact, I'd most definitely say Akira is straight, as he seems to have that whole James Bond/Roger Smith look going for him.

Another thing is the fact that I play as Rage all the time when I play 5th Mix. If this video was made, I wouldn't feel right about picking him again. Even if I was comfortable about it, others who may have seen the video would laugh when they see me do that.

And I still have to wonder: Why Akira and Rage? Why use DDR characters at all? Why not just have two unnamed men pack fudge to the sound of Burnin' the Floor? It would scar our mental images of DDR certainly less.

Using another girl character may be a good thing. Try looking at the characters at ddrei.com for ideas.

I think if you personally want to make this flash animation, then you should. No questions asked. I think it's a very interesting idea, myself. Although I think that having the whole "making love" scene would take the image of the flash a little too far. I agree with one of the previous suggestions of like, the whole cuddling. Maybe start it off with them playing DDR or something. Make it more cute and less in your face. Of course - those are just suggestions and you don't have to take them to heart.

As for the person who said to use Naoki and NMR as the characters...that's 348570234978523094 billion times worse than using Akira and Rage. Reason: Naoki/NMR is a real person. You should know that. Akira and Rage are at least made up people and arent (at least to anyones knowledge) real people.

As for the people who are "Dont use X character! It will ruin my image of them!". My suggestion to you all is Get over it. Please. They're characters and they're fictional. On top of that, it's not like they have much personality to begin with. They're BG dancers for a simulation game. Last I checked there was no "Story Mode" in DDR where you had to pick a character like Alice and have her go on a quest to become the Dancing Master and as you went along, you caught glimpses of her past and why she looks to freaking depressed all the time. I mean - it's fine to like the characters but you know - it's not like you can really get deeply attached to them. They weren't giving huge personalities. Just little bits and pieces to make them seem unique. (Alice is depressed, Naoki is a cowboy, Zukin has really bad schitzophrenia...etc.) So what image is getting ruined, I don't know.

As for Dikamai - I just say, do what you want. It's your flash and no one else's. It's not like they can dicate what's in it. Only whine about things that in the big scheme of things, aren't important.

I agree that the sex scene would be a bit too much but not because they're gay. I think it would be too much even if it was a man and a woman because I personally wouldn't want to be watching something then whoop... there's sex. Go ahead with the video. Good for you.

If i was going to make a flash animation based on DDR (and i have thought of it), it would be a parody called Diherea Diherea Revolution with people playing ddr with diherea with double steps having diherea coming out as they jump and the dancers "dropping the bomb" on the audience. That'd be funny

I would feel kind of uncomfortable watching that flick, but any Flash flick about DDR with any sex in it would make me fairly uncomfortable. Akira's my favorite character, so I'd probably watch it to see what you did with him. Make it; there aren't enough DDR Flashes out there.
