I was considering getting a plugmod but my friends have discouraged me from getting one saying that they dont work. could anyone who was one or used one please tell me if they work well, or if they work at all |

PS-X-Change works. Pro Action Reply works. Gameblaster Pro works.
I assume the Parallel I/O port is the one they remove on the newest PSX's before the 'mini' PSOne came out?
If so, PAR/GBP works. PS-X-Change works with any original PSX model. _________________

Something that should be added:
Japanese PS1 DDR 1st Mix through 5th Mix, Extra Mix and Best Hits all for sure have anti mod protection. Anyone who says that any of these mixes do not have anti mod protection have downloaded an already patched version from the internet. 2nd mix is the worst as I have not once ever got it to boot passed antimod screen no matter what I tried. 1st, 3rd and 5th mix all have patches floating around on the internet. 2nd, 4th, Best and Extra do not. If you do want to play the 2nd mix songs, patch your 3rd mix, and use the disc change feature on 3rd mix to load those songs on the 3rd mix interface. Same thing can be done with 1st mix. As for 2nd, 4th, Extra and Best, if anyone knows somehow of patches that are available please let us all know.
Also can someone please try the breaker pro on their 2nd mix and see if they can get the game to work? If you don't have it 4th or extra would be fine, but 2nd like I said has the best antimod protection. |

I am still trying to find a way to obtain 2nd mix, but since you asked, yes, 4th Mix and Extra Mix DO work with a breaker pro.Just make sure you switch on the anti-mod killer setting. _________________

Is your extreme a back up too? Your laser might just be dying, so you should send it off to PSX-TECH for a repair. One of the first signs of a dying laser is not playing CD-Rs and DVD-Rs. I suggest getting a fliptop for right now if you don't want send it off. Your killing your PS2 even mroe by using a swap card. _________________

no extreme's not a back up but about this laser dying. how does it start dying? over time? because my ps2 is pretty aged and if i want to get a flip-top or a repair i'll have to wait for either my mom to get her tax money or i start saving up because i just spent all the money i saved up ( 150 bucks ) on back ups and imports and the slide card and memory cards . so for now repair and fliptop aren't an option. any OTHER way? |

Does anyone have a chipped Xbox and #SP2 for DDR Ultramix? If you have the #SP files and can ftp them to your hard drive please get in touch with me. I can make sim file versions of the exclusive songs by ripping data directly from those files to give everyone the opportunity to play them. |

1.)Use Swap Magic DVD's(currently only 2.0 is available)to boot max2 and extreme.Use your 3.0 for party collection and max1.
2.)Do you get a red border when you press X at the insert disc screen? When you push the disc tray back in, make sure you slide it in one more time reverse to push it in fully.

If it's so easy, why not look on the first page?

Dont fret, it's being done behind the scenes. Outer Limits and Fire Dub are already done. _________________

Arrrrgggg!!!!! Alright, I've got a problem with my Magic Swap 2.0 discs. My DVD one works fine (I use it for my MAX2 and Extreme games), but I just got Party Mix and I want to play it, but when I put in the CD version of the Magic Swap the thing always goes to that red screen that says "Please insert a formatted PS1 or PS2 game" Agggghhhh it's pissing me off so much. My question is if I burn Party Collection to a DVD-R or RW will it work with the Magic Swapd Disc DVD? _________________

i think it was answered earlier that it's probably not possible to put a cd onto a DVD, but it's possible for vice versa (w/ a little patching and ripping and what-not)
also, i managed to get a gameshark lite so that i can use my PS1 mixes on the PS2, but for some reason i still keeping getting the software termenaited screen. do i really need to patch these games??? _________________

since you have a gameshark, use the anti-mod codes. |

Ok, another quick question. If I were to burn the CD version of the Magic Swap Disc to a CDR, would it work? Any idea? _________________

no, because non-modded PS2's can't play burnt games. Only a chip or a fliptop + boot disc can run burnt games, and the boot disc can't be burnt. |

i was wondering about this site as a workable mod...
http://www.ps2cover.com/breakerprousa.html
no internal modding is necesary and it looks pretty cool and a cheap way to play japanese psone imports. I would like info on this if anyone has it. |
