What's on your feet while playing DDR?

i play ddr in my old reliable shoes from payless shoe source (the brand name is worn off) best $20 i spent

I've tried playing in my dress shoes, which have a 1 inch heel on them...and actually i played better with them on..even tho i almost sprained my ankel

I play at home shoeless....but i suck on the home system...

first off... if you are doing light and most standard it's basically as if you're walking which requires no specific skill. when u get to the harder standard songs you're gunna realize that DDR is not better without shoes lol. try maxX unlimited on standard without shoes... i'm most def. you'll bleed rofl. i play with blue sacony's and nike swoosh... they are like track shoes.. theyare very light and comfortable... lighter shoes are better... skating shoes aren't the best in my opinion.. the tend to come off and are harder to lift which means you get less sets in.

I just play in old Adidas. I've had them forever, so they're really comfortable, but I didn't want to change when I got new shoes, so they're my "ddr shoes" now. They are pretty nice, but they could stand to be a little lighter. I've heard that skate shoes would be good (at least comfort-wise), but Brunswick Killah is right in that they're too heavy. I think running shoes would be ideal; light, yet comfortable. Next time I have a spare $60...

I wear a pair of nikes in which both shoes have a big hole in them from all the wear and tear from playing. Sucks when its raining cuz water gushes in a gets my socks all wet

I usually play with socks on, that way my feet have some protection and I can still feel the buttons. It's a little bit tougher on your feet on metal pads, but it works like a dream on my Ignition 2.0.

As for my shoes, the first time I played at the arcade I had trouble with my shoes, they were too loose, and it was hard to hit the steps right (maybe it'd help if I bothered to tie them )

Well since I don't have a metal pad at home unlike everyone else.. Well I don't play on a pad at home at all (u cheaters) I use my k swisses or my dc's when I play at the arcade....yall r lucky who have it at home to play with cuz I had to learn and play on the arcade since the beginning..singles and doubles...well back to the subject...I seem to have the best timing on my k swisses because they're not too light or heavy. When its my dc's they're too heavy...then when its my chucks (converse) those are the worst cuz they're toooo light so yeah.

At home, I always play barefoot (I just have a mymybox pro pad) ::jealous of the people with the -good- pads::

When I'm at the arcade, I wear my Skechers. I dunno what brand they are, but they grip pretty good and aren't too heavy. Now, if I could just learn to not step too far or short and miss the arrows...

The only time I go barefoot at an arcade is when I'm down at the beach, since they dun care and -hopefully-, nobody stepped in dog doo prior to my playing the game.

At home, I play in socks. All I have is the Konami XBox soft pad, which I rarely use. I would go barefoot, but my feet stick a bit. Socks work perfect though.

In the arcade, where I do most of my DDR, I wear New Balances. Old NBs. I tried doing it in my black Vans (the 'nice' sneakers) but they just hurt too much. Too narrow. I have incrediably big/wide feet for a girl though...

Most people I know prefer New Balances. In fact, Shiro begged to borrow my shoes in a couple of tournies. I got stuck in his big weird shoes ^_^;;

seriously.. do you guys actually notice a differance when you use differant shoes?? like kinds of shoes.. it dont matter i prefer playing in my socks but the arcade dude wont let me :(
