In our school, 12th graders have to do this thing called "senior wellness project", which is basically their attempt to comply with state standard for school's health and fitness programs. What you do is; you write up a proposal for some physical activity program you intend on doing over the next 4 months (for example, weight training or jogging) and describe the specifics of it. Then, for the next four months, you keep a journal of your workouts. Anyways, two of my friends put down DDR and described how it's an aerobic activity. The health department accepted it, and they basically got out of doing their senior wellness project, because they each played DDR an hour or two a day anyways. I mean, obviously it was still really good exercise, but before they started the senior wellness project, they'd been playing DDR an hour or two a day, so this called for no change in activity. I was so jealous over the next few months (I put down weight training). Anyone else have experiences like this? _________________

There's actually a school down here is So Cal with an Extreme machine in the gym. The school counts DDR as a regular P.E. activity. They set it on Event mode and it is played as P.E. That rules! I wish I could go there but it's a few cities away... _________________

If I tried to get a DDR machine into my school the admins would probably just say something like:
Principal: It's not a PE activity, it doesn't have points.
Me: Uh...it has a score...
Principal: But can't score a score, you can only score points.
