okay, I didn't really ever get an answer. This guy said you can play PS1 games without the anti-mod patch with a Magic 3.1 chip. I have a Magic 3.1 chip in my PS2. I got DDR my 5th mix today, and I can't get it to run. I tried holding down the reset button until the eject light turns on. (That is the only other 'method' I've ever read of for a Magic 3.1) I still get the anti-mod screen. What can I do?
-some other 'method' for a Magic 3.1
-breaker pro (I do not have a fliptop, just a chip)
-patch the CD image
someone, please, help. I don't know why this guy (and not anyone else) has told me that a PS2 chip can play anti-mod PS1 games unpatched. I will just patch it soon, but it'd be nice to use the original disc (otherwise the people I encounter would think it was an illegal copy) |

alright so does anyone know where I can find the antimod patches for 3rd and 4th mix? Megagames doesnt have em :\
Or unless there is a gameshark type disc that'll work on ps2 that can use ps1 codes so i dont have to rip the image to my hdd and patch it and all that jazz

Unfortunately, 4th does not have a patch. I'd like to get this game, but all I could play it on would be a PSX emulator. Freakin anti-mod.
Gameshark/Breaker Pro wouldn't work, either, unless I wanted to get a fliptop. But I got a CHIP so I wouldn't NEED a fliptop. Freakin anti-mod. |

Im pretty sure theres antimod for 3rd and 4th. My 3rd and 4th are bootlegs and they work without any antimod. I'll look around for a patch.

larrikin, there's no patch for 4th mix on www.megagames.com
I'm in the process of patching my DDR 5th mix ... gar too many problems ... does anyone know how to convert .cdr to .iso?

Im slowly replacing them with the real thing so I see no problem right now.

you know, i have a question, on the CD version of the swap magic, what's the use of the special boot, and the need for ntsc, PAL, or Normal options???

argh... I wasted 10 CD's trying to patch 5th mix. I got one working copy ... but it would never work when I tried to go into any menu but game mode. weird.
and NOW, I think something's messed up with my PS2 because it won't run CD-R's anymore. (It runs not-burnt CD's just fine)
I hate this ... I might get a fliptop and breaker pro but that's another $50 out of my DDR fund. HATE ANTI-MOD! |

Same thing that happened to me. Yore Fliptop comes after the Breaker Pro.Since i was exicted, i took apart my ps2 and used the open-cover disk tray to boot the ps1 games, andd then my fliptop came, so i installed it

| are there any alternative sites for ordering fliptop covers and swap magic discs? ps2cover.com wasted 2 months of mine just to tell me that they never even got an order from me, even though they sent me emails telling me my items had shipped.... |

| im too lazt to read through about 40 pages to get my info and the thread i made idn't help much mabey you can help thouhg larkin(sp) ok i have a slide card with swap magic 3.0. now i ordered extreme and mixs 1-6 (back ups) and best mix and extra mix. none of them have worked with swap magic for me yet and im almost postiive that im using swap magic correctly. i really didn't care much when my ps1 import back ups didn't work with swap magic because i had gameshark for ps1 on the way. now extreme got here and it didn't work i went bizurck. any advice? i also heard that imports only work on certain versions of ps2 is this true? thanks in advance. |
