If you could create your own mod for a ddr mix, what would it be? Mine would be called sidewinder1 or sidewinder2, instead of arrows scrolling from bottom to top, the arrows would scroll from left to right (sidewinder1) or from right to left (sidewinder2)
got any mods? _________________

Dance: Arrows float back and forth on the screen. Ex.
This is the top bar thingy
then the arrows look like this
and the arrows just sway back and forth, but end up on the correct arrow. _________________

Two new on-screen buttons:
So now not only do you have to dance with your feet, but you also have to tap the select buttons at the same time. Let's leave this arcade only, just to see people lunge at the screen while playing, realizing too late that the staeg has been moved too far back and their face goes flying straight into the machine.
But seriously, for a mod I'd like to see:
Fake- where the arrows appear to be displaying one step pattern, while the actual step pattern is counted. Think of it as a replacement for Stealth, and the arrows on screen simply look like they're on super shuffle. It'd mix people up if they watched the screen and they instinctively wanted to press what they see. _________________

I would call it Borders. There would be random step slots all around the screen, and arrows would come from the center of the screen outward. So like 4 right arrows would be coming at once, but it would be the same step, because there's more than one right slot. That would be %^&*in hard. _________________

Ganon wrote: | and arrows would come from the center of the screen outward. | i was thinking of something like that. the arrows would be placed in a diamond fashion. and the arrows that you have to step on would come out from the center and you would have to step on them. not as crazy as yours but almost similar. _________________

Cool Mods:
Whirlpool: Sationary Arrows are in the center of the screen, and arrows circle them before reaching the correct place.
Bounce-Back: Four arrows reach about three fourths of the way tp the screen, then sloooow, than the correct arrows speed up a bit to reach the spot on time, and as you hit them, instead of them disappearing, they bouce back to the others a quarter of the way down the screen, then speed up again to stay on time.
Chameleon: Arrows are crystal clear and background goes right through them. Only the distortion of background colors that occurs through the arrows will hint at their position
Cool Modes:
Survival Mode: You pick all your songs normally, but in this mode, anything less than a Perfect detracts energy. Marvelous steps are active in this mode.
Duel: A two player mode. Introduces new Incredible! Steps (EXACT timing). When you hit an Excellent step, you fire an offbeat arrow at your opponent. However, if your opponent hits an Excellent on an "attack arrow", then he or she fires THREE back at you.
(Real) Battle Mode: Two player mode. Regular Steps. Build up your combo as high as you can. When you lose your combo, you deal amount of damage to your opponent equal to your combo before it fell. Whoever has the least amount of damage (you can't fail in this mode) loses. Games are best out of three. _________________

Chameleon would be awesome.
your battle mode, are you saying that you should get full combo up to 1 away from AA, then miss it to brutally damage your partner? You would have to have different damage settings for number of combo. if they were the same, you could just hit miss hit miss hit miss and do the same damage. _________________

i think your battle mode system would have to have a "5 second pause" thing where if you dont step arrows for five seconds (or a natural pause and or a Freeze for five seconds) the combo automattically attacks your partner, this would be very cool... _________________

Pop/Beat modes: The standard arrows are replaced with Pop-kuns or Beatmania notes.
BG Off: Self explanitory - no background movies.
Random scroll: Arrow casings are in the middle of the screen. Arrows may scroll from either the top or the bottom.
Groove mode: Somewhere in between nonstop and oni. The dance bar is replaced with a groove gauge. You must end the song with at least 80% to pass. _________________

nice ones! especially Tekked well, i guess this thread can now be called, "Create a mod AND game mode" thread.
New mod: (see-saw) im not sure if its much of a see-saw but, when the arrows scroll up, about 1/4 towards the bottom, they go into the background and keep on coming back up repeadedly.
New Game Mode: (Tournament Style 1) plain and simple. if you wish to battle to see who gets the best score and perfects, then this is the mode for you. No mods allowed. thats why its called tournament style.
(Tournament Style 2) exactly like tournament style 1, except in this one, you can use mods.
(Tournament Style 3) similar to tournament style 1, except in this one, if you miss a step one of your 5 lives are taken away. and if one of you loses all 5 lives, that person automatically loses and the other player wins but the song keeps on going. exactly like oni mode except you get 5 lives. can also be called Tournament Style Challenge. _________________

Mods that I would actually like to play in future versions: 2.5x and 4x and the C400 speed modifier already in Stepmania, but being able to customize it, IE a speed modifer that allows you to set the BPM scrollspeed of the arrows yourself, so you could play every song at the same BPM that suits you. Teh speed mod whore is I!
Announcer: Off/On/ and being able to customize your announcer, IE have more than one announcer to select from, with different comments for different achievements. How about a sarcastic announcer that goes "Wow you hit 10 arrows in a row!" on a 10-combo, or "Why don't you play spider-stomping?" When you get more than one non-combo step in a row. _________________

i wouldnt mind seeing square mode. where each step zone is placed at each corner on your side of the screen and the arrows come out diagonally. _________________

Cool mods would be slower speed mods, .75,.50,.25.
The Fuwa Fuwa and brake mods that only appear in the Trick Oni coarse should be avaliable in the normal game mode. _________________

id say a cool mod would be like if they stuck 3 arrows in at once... so you have to use your hand for one of them... unless you have 3 feet _________________

That's not a mod. Pump it up has 3, 4 and even 5 panel presses at once ^^
I really like the sound of Chameleon _________________

I'm sure if it was sold for profit, Konami would clamp down on it (I'm sure it's a matter of time before they clamp down on ITG).[/quote]

New Mod: (ghost) where the step zone arrows at the top keep on disappearing and reappearing. _________________
