the mall arcade has become so infested with jailbait that I have vowed to never return there. I brought a total of 30$ with me, and I had 7$ stolen right off the machine while i was dancing, (I had a marked loonie, I moved it to the back of the loonie line each tim e i went up), and I was shoved off 3 times at the first song, I heard sarcastic yelloing in the background like "You can do it!" and "Don't slow down!" when I was playing stuff like Jet world, Be lovin, easy stuff. The shadowers repeatedly A) just get on the other pad and shadowed the quarter runs, and got off when they say blue arrows, or B) ask in the most girly tone if they can shadow me, Knowing that they don't have the ability to. they were just out to agrivate their superiors, and I'm not bragging when I say that, anyone who doesn't make afronova (Espectially on LIGHT)their bitch are better than them. Why are these... animals so insistant on messing everyones DDR routine up?

That really sucks. You know what i think you should do? buy a PS2 and get the game for that. After a while it will pay off because you wont be spending so much money to play on a machine and you are in the privacy of your own home without all those annoying shadowers.

Ugh, reminds me of some of the little punks at some of the arcades i go to... actually had the nerve to ask me to give them 75 cents the one time, as they were interupting my precious ddr time with playing all light or begginner songs (see Afronova and Telephone operator...over...and over...) I mean i know ya gotta start somewhere but i really cant see a reason for them to play the same damn songs over and over. Anyways you can usually tell what kind of people your gonna deal with at the arcade if you look at the players best sorting option...if you see some good 9 and 10 footers id think it should be a decent arcade...but if you see Afronova..Crash..Or Telephone operator...run for your life...

ahhh...the subtlety of tapping their down arrows as they hit the selection button...I do so love eating the n00bs, after my all first songs on light were such songs as rythym and police, b4u, saints go marching, dynamite rave, and other past mix songs...and after a group of merely 5 girls playing I do i do i do 28 times in one night, I am teh n00binator...

oh wait, no i just go play ddr while the groms are at school...makes my life easier

Sorry about the crazy arcade.

Here's my theory: If there was something in it for YOU, you could just chill and not be bothered.

Like, the next time someone asks to shadow you, say offhandedly: "Sure -- if the next set's on you." They either won't shadow, or shadow and then pay. If they're paying, who cares how far they go or what they dance to? You get more game time, they have fun -- win win.

By the way, keep in mind that it takes some guts to ask a superior DDR'r for a share. Especially an older, cooler one.

Just a thought...

even though my local arcade is no infested with kids that play on maniac yet turn on little and turn off the freeze arrows th basicly make it a basic level song. plus they always throw in thewir money and hit the button when you wanna play doubles or alone. they don't undersatnd that they should ask others if they can play with them, not just jump on. plus the worest part is, THEY DON'T USE COIN LINES!!!!! I've had to sit many times waiting because they just stick they're money in the machineand jump on when your supposed to be next in line. it makes me want to kill them. yet for some reason i still go to that arcade.

It's also nice to let people know that you don't like them or their kids the hard way. Example: I'm not very nice to children.

I'm black (before this starts, so no offense taken when I say "black" please...none of that politically correct stuff). I'm about to play a game of DDR and this black girl of maybe 14 gets on the pad. I ask her to get off the pad 'cause I'm about to play. She says she can do what she wants. This is where I realize I HATE kids. I look at this half-pint hoodrat and go "Listen, you. You are going to get off these pads while I am playing. I will play this game, it will last 3 songs, and THEN you can get on and do what you want. If you or the 2 guys with you have anything to say, I have about 22 seconds until my game starts. Is there a further problem?", at which point she decides to get off the pad and leave me alone. Neither of the 2 ghetto-looking black guys there decide they wanna try their luck, so I play and I tell her when I got done. Mission accomplished.

This is where you learn to use crazy mods(like how you guys have mentioned Stealth and all) I usually use reverse and boost and when people shadow me they sorta stare at the screen. Buahahaha. er.. sorry.

But yeah RPOD I really feel sorry for you that there's horrible teeny boppers of death at your arcade. I hate that. Their as annoying as kids who run infront of you while you play.

And Dancin' Dre, you are my hero. I'd love to have seen that.

Also I think they should make some sorta sign on the machine saying 'children at risk when running across the pad' or something; so that way your not liable if you happen to'run over' or 'trip' on a kid

People suck, unfortunately this is what you must deal with. This is why I play at our colleges machine, no little morons running around interferring. Only thing I Have to deal with is the jocks playing pool that laugh and mock us until we do hard fast songs then they clap and say were good.

In short, frick people who ruin your game, and if they do it, make a loud scene, it will embarass them and they most likely wont do it again.

I hear ya Perverted Lain, High School is High School. As long they're not more than two years younger than me.

As for the arcade, I have a virtually deserted Putt-Putt, on the occasional times when new (always young kids) people come in, my friends and I assert our dominance of the machine, crowd around it. When we see a young kid who genuinely wants to play, we invite them up and show them a thing or two even.
