The reason that there's so little furigana in the J version is because Japanese speakers only need furigana for the kanji that they don't see often at all. The hundreds of other kanji symbols are sort of expected that you know them. I can read over 200 kanji (and the other kana as well) so I might just import this... _________________

Is it just me, or is this game really, really easy? I mean, not to be arrogant, but I platinumed almost every song on my first try. I never thought of myself as a very good singer, but I can carry a tune. Does anyone else find this game to not have any challenge at all? |

Nope. I haven't failed a song yet, but I'm not that good, either. I have a platinum on You Really Got Me Now, and I'm 200 off of When a Man Loves a Woman. I have to hold the mic up literally touching my lips to play, though. I don't like how the mic is too short, to get it to the corner of my mouth, I have to almost pull the earpeice off of my head. If no one is home, I don't have to push it into my face, because I can sing as loud as I want As for expansion packs, look on the official Karaoke Revolution site (www.konamiusa.com -- Karaoke Revolution -- Launch the Official Site) to where you can request songs. I requested Time of Your Life and Bohemian Rhapsody. They can't make an expansion without songs, can they? |

Bohemian Rhapsody...
I LOVE IT! It would be SO difficult!
If you think the game is easy, up the judging accuracy. The hardest setting nearly requires perfect pitch and rhythm. It's tough. |

Here's a solution for the "Don't-wanna-play-KR-cuz-there's-no-DDR-in-it" people....
Step one - Get an Xbox
Step two - Get the music mixer
Step three- Stop complaining
The whole point of the game was to open up to a broader crowd of gamers, many who aren't so familiar with other bemani we play. Besides, singing It's the end of the world as we know it, is alot more impressive than someone making a horrible attempt to karaoke Butterfly. _________________

I finally bought the game yesterday
anyway, do we know when any of the expansion packs will be released [even approximately]? I wanted to get KR *before* the [good] song packs were released so my funds wouldn't get slammed.... _________________

Those are only Japanese expansion discs, which have are different (and in my opinion, worse) engine. US expansion releases have not been announced as of yet. _________________

Sadly, it doesn't have in-house artists

Just you wait, they'll release Butterfly on KR and we'll be screaming for it to stop!
Lol, Actually, I hope KR gets more interesting songs from Dancemania and Beatmania/DDR artists... I mean, there would be nothing cooler than singing Afronova, or funny. But sadly, I got a bad feelin KR was a selling flop, since Karaoke in general is not something people do when they're not drunk.
>.< Even better would be a KR PC version, or some kind of SWI (Sing with intensity) thing, then I could abuse all the songs I want. _________________

Konami will never ever afford to bring us DanceMania tracks or even put in-house songs on KR. _________________

Uh...why would they want to? It's a karaoke game that they're trying to sell to everyone, not just to Bemani players. _________________

Sorry to be bringing this topic back from page 3, but I had an idea regarding the expansion packs - what if we had a compromise between those who love Bemani songs and those who love familiar pop tunes? Specifically, an expansion pack featuring all well-known songs that have been covered or otherwise used in Bemani arcade titles. For instance, I can imagine Born To Be Wild and Bad Medicine from Drum Mania / Percussion Freaks would be popular karaoke choices, and We Will Rock You and The Reflex - the full, uncut versions - from the DDR series (among many many others, but these are more recent, and I imagine the tremolo parts of The Reflex would make an interesting vocal challenge.)
[Edit: I myself do not have the game, but it sounds very, very, very interesting. Of course, even the unbundled game would be expensive, once you factor in the purchase of a PS2 headset mike. Hopefully I can pick it up within a few months - maybe there'll even be an expansion disk by then...] _________________

GameStop just got the date of June 23rd in its computers for the release of Karaoke Revolution Volume 2. I didn't see any information about songs in there yet, but the info did just get uploaded today. Dunno how accurate it is, but here's hopin' that it has a lot of songs on it. _________________
