i have a cheapo soft pad that is both parralel and playstation compatible but my down arrow doesnt work. I got it for free from my friend so i dont really care if i break it.... =P

i was wondering if anyones cut open the soft pad and tried to fix a soft pad.

im in the process of buying a metal pad right now, but until then i gotta use something right?

any help would be appreciated

okay I think you should do that following:
I think it may be the foam on the inside. By some foam inserts, cut up your pad, then replace the foam.
OR, you can check the wiring, make sure nothing is outta place.

Yeah, I cut open a crappy mad catz pad i had once, the inside is quite interesting, the whole thing is off static electricity. My down arrow was also the one that wasnt working, and when I cut it open I figured out how it worked, but could not find the cause of the problem. The foam can sometimes bunch up too much, not allowing the two sheets of static electric plastic stuff to connect. The other possible problem was that the plastic crap was really worn, it just wears out. Luckily you have a metal pad comin' thats cool, if you just cant wait you could always use the controller, but thats a real bore E1.gif

I've asked a couple questions in the one that says "ALL Soft Pad Discussion Goes Here" and they all got ignored completely.
