After copying all of my DWI stuff over to a new computer I have, the program won't run at all in DX mode only SDL. This is really getting on my nerves. It's Windows XP with DirectX 9 and the video card (which I think is the culprit) is a S3 Graphics "pro savage DDR". Help?

First off, make sure you go over the troubleshooting guides that come with the program. If you're using Step Mania, good, if you're using DWI, then my suggestions may not help (as I use SM only and don't use DWI).
1. Do a fresh install of the .exe file. But make sure to uninstall the current version first.
2. Download the newest version of Step Mania available, if you haven't already done so.
3. Install the latest DivX codecs at http://www.divx.com
4. Install the latest Direct X from http://www.microsoft.com
5. Install the lastest drivers for your video & sound cards.
6. If you are still having problems after all this, post again

No dice. The DivX codec doesn't help (it's DWI) and I'm not having any luck with any drivers that I try. The PC was just built and all the drivers were up to date when I got it, but I've been trying out the drivers here http://ranger.s3graphics.com/swlib/420drv/ without success. I'm convinced that my display adapter is garbage.
