I think you can find it by booting it up in browser mode and pressing triangle. |

I can swap discs without hitting eject, but can you give me intructions on how to do it, like when to swap and whatnot |
HOW TO USE THE SWAP MAGIC/BREAKER PRO DISCS WITH YOUR PLAYSTATION 2 CONSOLE:
1.you need to have some way of changing discs without pressing the elect button. Possible ways to do this aare:
-cover off ps2 and disc tray top unscrewed(top needs to be on to play a game)
-slide card(not reccomended)
-fliptop
2.Insert the swap disc normally like any game.
3.(3 sections)
SWAP MAGIC 2.0:
Wait for the playstation 2 logo to come up. Once you get to a starry screen with the words Insert Disc, the spinning will stop. Fliptop/uncovered ps2 users- lift off the disc tray cover, take out the swap disc, insert game of choice, put cover back on, and then press the (X) button on your controller,
Slide card users-Use the sliding technique described in the case to take tray out, take the swap disc out, put your game in, reinsert the the tray, and press the (X) button on your controller.
Once you press the X button, the screen will make a border on the side.A blue border means it can boot up the game, a red border means a bad burn.If you get a blue border, enjoy your game.
SWAP MAGIC 3.0:
Wait for the playstation 2 logo to come up. The Swap Magic logo will come up, and once you get to a menu asking Play Game and Video Mode, the disc motor will stop.
(Note that some games use the Triangle button as a special boot)
After setting the right video mode, and hitting Play Game, the disc will boot.If it stays at the light red screen for a long time, you have a bad burn.
BREAKER PRO:
Wait for PS1 logo to come up. YOu will go to a blue menu asking the region, start game, anti-mod disable, and action replay enable. Set these to fit the game you are going to play, then hit X on start game.WARNING:DO NOT TAKE COVER/TRAY OUT BEFORE YOU HiT START GAME.
After hitting X, the ps2 will boot the game.If it stays at the blue screen, you have a bad burn.
There you go. _________________

Thanks, but I was using an action replay, which I can't seem to find a way to get working with imports, despite being told it was possible _________________

fliptop users: for CD-based games, do you use the TOC refresh with the breaker pro? if so, what is the procedure for that? _________________

I have a PS2 with a Magic 3.1 modchip. Booting up in PS1 mode does NOT protect against anti-mod PS1 games, right? I have a DDR 5th Mix coming, but I can patch it.
What I'm wondering about is the other PS1 bemani games. DDR 4th mix and DDR extra mix do not have patches (that I can find). The beatmania appends couldn't even be played with a gameshark! Is a stealth-modded PS1 or a Japanese console the only option? |

oranges-that would allow you to play ps2 imports and backups except you would destroy your ps2's disc motor.get a fliptop instead
clockwise- i saw this on ps2cover's website, no ides how to do it.
hooded_paladin-stealth modded ps1 or import ps/2 are not the only options. The Breaker Pro plays those games fine. _________________

does a breaker pro need a fliptop? and can a breaker pro run multi-CD games (like appends)?
*edit* in case that sounds like an obvious question, keep in mind that my PS2 is modded with a Magic 3.1 chip |

Anybody need their ps2 chipped with magic 3.1? check out my site at http://geocities.com/drega78 for ANY DDR MIX you can think of (except ddr 3rd korean ). I have from ddr extreme to even party collection.
From what I've read here, it seems like you guys don't really know your modchips and ways to play them huh? There are MANY methods in playing your ps2 games with or without a modchip. There's cheap ways which can be annoying like the gs or ar2 swap trick, or non annoying way where you just pop the games in and play.
As for PSX games, you DO NOT need to patch the cd image. There is a techqiue you must perform on the ps2 ( referring to ppl who has magic 3.1 installed in their ps2) that enables you to play psx games. I encounter the same problem but had it fix. Just take a look at my website if you need any of the following:
SBOX MODCHIP
SBOX MODCHIP INSTALLTION
SWAP MAGICS
PS2 NETWORK MODEM
MAGIC 3.1 MODCHIPS
ANY PS2 GAMES YOU NEED STARTING AT ONLY $3 PER GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cheers peepz

what method DO you use?
is it just holding reset for a few seconds when you boot? because that still doesn't work with anti-modded PS1 games, does it? |

Well, only game that I know of that's mod protected is Tomba for PSX. I know for certain that all the ddr mixes are NOT mod protected. |

there is one wire you have to solder in. A gameshark can play imports.
btw: spelling tends to make people less annoyed. |

There are several (although the majority of them aren't) PSX games that have anti-modchip code (see http://www.megagames.com/psx/psx_protected_games.shtml for full list).
Some of the earlier DDR mixes have anti-modchip protection - I'm not 100% sure which was it was, but I tried playing one of the earlier ones (DDR 2nd ReMix I think) and got the 'mod chip detected' error message.
That being said, all the later ones don't have the anti-mod code and play fine.
Actually, from looking at this site (http://www.geocities.com/psxcplist/psxlist2_files/sheet005.htm), looks like 2nd ReMix is ok and the one I tried was probably 4th mix. |

Well, that makes all sence cuz I have all mixes besides 2nd mix. I have the appendix 2nd remix cd. Heard you need 2nd mix to boot that up but never really saw what was in that game. Anybody ever played it? |

Hmm. Console source doesn't seem to do installations for you, and psxtech a) hasn't responded to my email i sent a few days ago, and b) the warranty page suspiciously is a broken link. Any other suggestions as to where I can send my PS2 away (or even better drop off somewhere close to the Boston area) and get a DMS 3 installed? |

I'm thoroughly confused now.
Reading this list, it looks like some games are protected and some games are anti-mod protected. What's the difference? Can a Magic 3.1 chip in a PS2 play protected games or anti-mod protected games or both or neither? |

an 'appendix' is both an organ, and then end of a book. not an add-on disc. _________________
