"It must be the shoes ..."

Don't know if this qualifies as a 'Gameplay' thing, so ...

Anyway, whenever I play DDR on the home front, I always play barefoot. Not only does this make me never able to play worth anything in the arcades, but playing Catas on a Cobalt Flux barefoot on a regular basis can't be good for my long-term foot health.

Since I'll be moving again soon, finally to a place where I'm on the FIRST floor and don't have downstairs neighbors to offend, I'll finally be able to wear shoes when I play and not worry about added impact noise. But the ones I have right now slide around so much I'm tempting fate every time I use them.

Long and short of it - is there a particular brand, make, whatever of shoes that any of you prefer using for DDR? Would just standard Crosstraining sneakers work well enough?
