Being rather new to this concept are there other physical interactive video games that work up a sweat that you can do at home.....
If there are do you have any links , for research purposes?
What ideas would yo think would be fun for a video game company to put out in the future, for exercise, dance , martial arts....ect? |

There's martial beat.
And some workout game by Konami based off of DDR.
Nintendo's power pad with world class track meet.
The home version of Pump it up should be too hard to get.
That's pretty much all I can think of. _________________

i dont think PIU is such a bad game at all. i think its a nice game to play when ur waiting in a long ass coin line on the ddr machine . but it really is a rip off of ddr. _________________

I don't know of a home version, but that boxing game in the arcade, where you wear the gloves and have to dodge the opponents blows while striking with your own, it definitly works up a sweat after a few rounds. |

personally, I think PIU has better choreography than DDR, simply because the 5-arrow setup allows for more complex moves and techniques, but the songs are generally worse...although
nothing beats Beethoven Virus, that songs kicks buttocks! Also V(for Extreme) was a ripoff of Winter on Pump it Up. But those are the only two songs I really enjoy on PIU, so DDR wins in the end _________________

Actually, Winter was a classical song before they put it in PIU, and DJ Taka remade Winter (possibly with no knowledge of the song being on PIU) and named it V. |

Yeah I don't think DJ Taka plays PIU but WTF does this have to do with games that make you sweat at home? _________________

I guess Eye-Toy could be considered physical, since you have to move your body. _________________

Mocap Boxing isn't available for home consoles. So yeah, your best bet is to just look into other music games like DDR or Pump or Samba de Amigo.
By the way, Pump is a great game. _________________

Okay, This doesn't help whatsoever but I just thought I'd like to say there is no question between V being a ripped off from PIU because V is from beatmania IIDX and *NOT* ddr so I doubt he was trying to make a piu song into a ddr song because it was a IIDX song first.
Sorry if this is somewhat incoherent cuz im kinda sick right now but I hate to hear people say V, Sakura, etc. are DDR songs. _________________

People who say PIU is a rip-off of DDR are only those idiotic DDR fanboys who can't grasp the concept of playing a dance game with anymore or less than 4 arrows.
PIU is a better freestyle game than DDR period.
PIU has more challenging songs than DDR period.
PIU isn't a rip-off. Its an improvement.
But then again, this IS an American board. I shouldn't expect anything less really ¬_¬ _________________

Woah Woah Woah...PIU better than DDR? I think not. Now I know I'm pretty new and not that expierenced (AA most catas) but I really have to disagree here. Lets have a look at the statistics. DDR has like 5 home versions in the US and in Japan. Thts because they have enough money from sales at the arcade to make all these. Now lets have a look at the PIU home versions.....
...
Well *I* havent heard of any, and I'm the common dude that plays physical video games, so if they did, you'd think they'd want to let me know about it. So this means that they don;t have enough money to make a PIU home version. And since DDR home is obviously making money, you would think if they could, they would.
This is still ignoring the fact that you rarely here about PIU, you never hear about it saving the arcades like DDR, and I for one have never even seen one of the things. Dont get me wrong, PIU is bound to be a great game, its just DDR is well, Better. _________________

awww, the lil PIU fanboy got offended ... now answer me this: which game is more popular?? thats right DDR baby! now if u cant accept that DDR is better than PIU then just go to another forum. oh and btw, i am really good at both PIU and DDR so i have a basis for opinion and my opinion is not bias therefore it is valid. but u are a brit, we should expect such snobbiness really. peace _________________

I'm no PIU fanboy. I like all dance games. Granted I like PIU the most but that doesn't me a biased cunt toward any of them. I just jump up and speak when someone starts calling PIU a cheap DDR rip-off when it so blatantly isn't.
Regarding PIU home versions... theres:
Evolutionary dance Floor
Banya Collection
The Perfect Collection
Banya's premiere 2 Collection
Prex3
So yeah, your ignorance is funny. Granted the first one isn't very good at all... but then again, DDR home versions were pretty much all awful until the higher mixes started coming out. Not to mention that the official PIU soft pads were made with quality, whereas DDR softpads tend to be trash.
And I really don't care that DDR is the more popular. People are biased because its easier to get into, little more. Plus DDR has the whole elitist scene where bar raping and using mods are evil and prove you "have no skill" at the game. I don't see PIU communities like that at all. They tend to all get along because they take a more relaxed approach to the game. _________________

Glad someone appreciates it.
I love DDR just as much as anyone else here. I just like other dance and bemani games too. _________________
