Been working with the EyeToy gadgetry, and while limited, is quite a bit of fun... Technically, EyeToy Play isn't a music game per se, but it does include two music minigames, Beat Freak (which sounds a lot like a Bemani title) and Disco Stars. Personally, I prefer Disco Stars myself - the memorization aspects with the timing is sort of fun; I can't quite get the timing of Beat Freak (usually hit the speakers too early) yet. (The IGN review of Beat Freak compares it to Para Para Paradise.)

I don't know much about Groove yet, although Junior Senior's Move Your Feet, which always seems to be high on the DDR "What game would you like to see..." list, has been mentioned as being on it...

What do you think of the EyeToy in general, especially musically? (Obviously, the music is far far... far more generic than in the average Bemani title.)

It's alright, but it suffers from one thing...the lack of ability to register a "hold", as it seems to be entirely motion-activated. That, and I don't know how spot-on the timing can be with it. But it can be fun.

As far as the product as a whole...I love it to death when I got people over, but it doesn't have enough to it to keep me occupied while alone. I'll say this: it has potential.

Heh, also, I've been thinking...from the shots of "Groove" I saw a few months ago, I wonder if it'd be possible to somehow suspend the camera from the ceiling (facing down at you) and have it almost be like Para Para. happy.gif
