I bought BNS DX-Style pads.. And they are selling pad covers for them for 18 bucks. Do they actually help? Are they worth their price tag? ($18?)? Should I get them? And can I really play with shoes with them?
Also.. to prolong my pad.. Do you guys suggest me buying extension cables for my pad? So I plug my pad plug into the extension into the ps2?? Would that help? |

I had 2 soft pads set up next to each other, with the on the left having a protective cover. Both were taped town to a piece of cardboard. I do play alot of doubles, but whenever I play single, I use the left pad. I have been playing heavy songs for a couple of months now, and my pads are just about dead now.
So, I would say that they do help. (I never played with shoes on so I cant answer that question.)
As far as extension cables? They have to relevance to the life of the pad..... |

I got some with my last pads but don't use them; I don't want to tape them to the pad but if you don't they move too much. That being said, I'm sure they would help if you wanted to play with your shoes on (I don't) but I don't know how much of a difference they'd actually make. |

I've read too many reviews that said they were worth the investment to play without 'em. I do have a second pad that a friend of mine payed for, but I couldn't presuade him to get a cover with it (I guess we'll just have to see which lasts longer ).
I really have no complaints about the cover. Yes, it slips around during play (especially if you're doing, say, Maxx Unlimited on standard or higher), but it's the cover that's moving, not the pad itself, so there's no real suffering to the gameplay.
I'd recommend them, but it's up to you. I say if you have the extra cash for it, go with it (although I bought mine for 15 from RedOctane, and I know that the pad cover also works with the BNS DX, and the shipping costs from buynshop.com are horrendous). _________________
